This week we analyze U.S. President Joe Biden's meeting with Vladimir Putin, the media responses, and what one foreign policy scholar called the "most dangerous scenario."
This week, as a dangerous new strain of COVID-19 arrives in the U.S., we look at what health officials have said about its spread, and the efficacy of vaccines against it. We also touch on a return to conflict in Israel, as well as the recent Iranian elections which have newly elected Israeli leader Nataly Bennett warning Western Leaders about things to come. We then shift our focus to the recent meeting between U.S. President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin, and why what one foreign policy scholar called the "most dangerous scenario" could result from the current geopolitical situation.

This week we examine the recent G7 Summit and responses to the meeting between world leaders over their goals toward unifying against threats from Russia and China.
This week, as we pick up recent coverage of Vice President Kammala's southern trip, and how it became mired in controversy following problematic statements the VP made when confronted by the media about the Biden Administration's immigration policies. Meanwhile, a shake up has occurred in Israel as a narrow vote has ousted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has remained in power for more than a decade.
Then getting to the heart of the discussion, we turn our attention toward the 2021 G7 Summit in Cornwall, England, and the response from the international community to the meeting of world leaders. Among the focus of their discussions had been a new global corporate tax, the ongoing battle against COVID-19, and other issues. However, much of the focus of this year's summit also had to do with those countries who were not in attendance--namely China and Russia--and what the response from the G7 member countries should be in the years ahead as the rise of Autocracies in the East remain ever present.

This week, with ransomware incidents on the rise, we examine how the world economy can be affected by cybercrime, and what various countries are doing to prevent such attacks.
This week on Middle Theory, after looking at what had caused setbacks for U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris as she embarked on her first international trip since taking office, we turn our attention toward a question so serious that it undoubtedly has caused sleeplessness throughout the world: did former President Donald Trump wear his pants backward to a recent event? We also examine controversies surrounding President Biden's current infrastructure plan, and why one Democrat's crusade for bipartisanship might have actually made things easier for the opposing party. Finally, we then shift our focus over to the problem of ransomware, and why in recent days it has become such a threat to the global economy that the U.S. is now elevating it to being a form of terrorism. We look at all of this, and much more on this week's edition of Middle Theory.

Conflicting theories about the origins of COVID-19 continue to make news, with U.S. politicians pushing for investigations into whether it originated from a lab in Wuhan, China.
This week on Middle Theory, we lead off with our observance of Memorial Day and related news, which includes an analysis of a dispute that erupted between Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Texas Senator Ted Cruz. We also look at shootings that occurred over the holiday weekend, and how a seven-year-old boy managed to save his family by swimming for an hour.
Then getting to the heart of the discussion, while U.S. politicians continue to press for investigations into the possible origin of COVID-19 at a virology lab in Wuhan, China, some scientists have raised objections to variations of the lab theory. We look at these theories and weigh the possibilities in terms of what scientists have had to say about the matter in recent days.

Controversy ensues over international laws being broken during the forced landing by the Belarusian military of a Ryanair commercial airliner carrying a dissident journalist.
This week, as we look at things happening globally, a cease-fire has finally occurred between Israel and Palestine, as Antony Blinken travels to the Middle East this week to attempt to engage in U.S. diplomacy amidst criticism of the Biden Administration's handling of the conflict. Meanwhile, cryptocurrency has seen a shakeup in recent days with Bitcoin bottoming out, after reaching an all-time high in April.
However, this week's most significant stories were the controversy surrounding the forced landing by the Belarusian military of a Ryanair commercial airliner carrying a dissident journalist. Legal scholars have already weighed in on why international laws were broken during this incident, and why the Western World has had the gauntlet tossed in its direction as far as how such an incident can be prevented in the future, all of which we discuss this week on Middle Theory.
