This week's full show was dedicated to hearing about those in need of food donations from the 'Ken Smollen Food Appeal'.

Ken joined Liam in studio to discuss the current status of the group and faced questions about its formal application process to be a registered charity.

Members of the Appeal team also came into studio to read out heartbreaking letters that were sent by families who need donations of food.

Glyn Caragher also spoke to Liam and discussed the Appeal's work..Glyn is the grandson of Noel Browne, the former Minister for Health.

Liam is facing his first ever 5K run! and to help him face it..he was joined by Mossie Mac from the Bridge House Leisure Centre in Tullmaore..Mossie is Assistant Manager and he spoke about preparation for 5Ks and how to stay actively fit in these busy working times.. Liam did the run for the Irish Heart Foundation project 'Escape the chair'..getting everyone to get up out of their chairs and exercise.

He also spoke about the plans for redeveloping the old courthouse building in Birr..which has been left vacant for a number of years. Offaly historian Michael Byrne and Birr Councillor John Carroll joined Liam to discuss.

And....Liam took a trip down memory lane for Midlands 103 listeners.....he recalled the popularity of the 'Big Ed & Betty Show' which aired on Saturday mornings back in the Radio 3 days and then Midlands 103....Big Ed has passed on sadly, but Betty Ryan joined Liam to reminice and chat to listeners once again.
