Labels. Host Kate Porter and her guests talk about them a lot on Midlife Unlimited®… and not fabulous designer ones. Kate means the labels that are thrust upon us. And, especially in Midlife, these labels can be as uncomfortable as an ill-fitting pair of jeans. They just don’t feel right. They don’t align with who we really are.
Midlife is our time to stop conforming, and say “Hell no!” to trying to fit it. It’s time for us to break the mould.
Now one mould that springs to mind is the labels that make up the Triple Goddess stages of being a woman – Maiden, Mother and Crone. Our rites of passage.
And, as our phase of the female life circle shifts from Mother to Crone, Kate has been struck by two things. Firstly, is she ready to be a Crone? And, secondly, she’s welcoming talk of potentially a fourth stage for where she is right now… The Sage.
If this resonates, join your host Kate The Midlife Metamorphosis Coach® and her guest Sarah Tompsett Women’s Wellness Coach and Kinesiologist and founder of Restore Wellness for Episode 042 as they talk about How to Embody your Sage as a Midlife Woman.
From the origins of the label Crone and the ancient Moon tents, via fairytale hags and life’s seasons, Sarah and Kate debate this is our time to embrace our wisdom and let our brilliance shine.
And they discuss how the title “Sage” seems far more fitting for this celebratory chapter of our lives - could it be the missing link between the traditional stages of Mother and Crone?
Neither Kate nor Sarah are ready to be written off yet, and Sarah shares her top three tips for embracing our Sage identity during our midlife metamorphosis to shed the shame and ban toxicity so that we can relish this pivotal time in our lives.

Do you have a hankering to write a book? To share your knowledge? To widen the reach of your brilliance? Your host Kate Porter does.
And with so many Midlife Unlimited® guests climbing the best-seller charts – and one of Kate’s weekly guest questions being What is the title of your autobiography? – she’s donning her queen of taking perfectly imperfect action crown and going for it too.

Author Helen shares how her passion for writing stems from childhood, and how COVID threatened to quash her creativity. And talks openly about her metamorphosis journey to not just reigniting her own purpose to share her expertise through the books she writes, but to also help others go for it too.
Tune in for top tips on how to start your journey to becoming a published author as Helen and Kate dig deep into how to turn our book dreams into reality.

Choices. How often do you find yourself spiraling round in circles when trying to make a choice? Making excuses to yourself? Waiting for that certainty that will never come? Procrastinating because you are unclear of your destination? Unsure of what you really want and need.
If you’re a Gen X woman struggling to decide just which of the choices you are facing is the right choice for you right now, then this is the episode for you.
Join your host Kate Porter The Midlife Metamorphosis Coach® and her guest Founder of Soul Signatures® and host of the Being Soul Confident Podcast Nicola Tonsager for Episode 040 as they talk about How to Live into the Journey as a Midlife Woman.
When it comes to walking our path, all too often we become fixated on what we think is the destination we yearn for and need, but at the same time we are unwilling to live into and commit to the journey to get there… and the choices this entails.
Nicola shares her metamorphosis journey from making a “simple decision” to “choose me” when she turned 50.
But, as the pair explore in this episode, simple does not mean easy!
And once we have made that decision, following through on it can be even harder as we live into that choice and bring it to life - step by step of our journey.
Kate and Nicola discuss ditching the shoulds and societal restraints so that we can live more freely and fully and be ourselves in our Second Spring and beyond.
And Nicola explains how Soul Signatures® are the energy of soul that’s part of us, and she shares her insights for how we can use them as a tool to help us accept all of who we are.

Midlife is a fabulous time to unleash the woman we deserve to be. Because we all deserve to be all that we are. This is the time to wake ourselves up…. Shake ourselves up… and come back to life.
And this means owning our quirky.
Owning our vulnerable parts that make us real. That lie at the core of who we are.
If this resonates with you as a Gen X woman, join your host Kate Porter The Midlife Metamorphosis Coach® and her guest Brand Amplifier Sarah Brason for Episode 037 as they talk about How to Own Your Story as a Midlife Woman.
Kate and Sarah are advocates that Midlife is not just a wake-up call – it’s a bedside table full of alarm clocks, as it brings the realisation what we don’t have to spend our whole life pretending.
And in this episode the pair share their insights and inspiration for how we can stop bending ourselves into what someone else wants from us, and simply be us by accepting our gloriously perfect imperfection.
With rare and heartwarming honesty, Sarah reveals how losing her daughter Rowan has moulded her story, underpinned by her belief that breaking doesn’t have to be the end… it can be the beginning.
Kate is honoured that Sarah helps shine a light on the darkest moments of baby loss. And Sarah explains how she sensitively navigated those workplace conversations that all-to-often are left unhad due to fear of saying the “wrong” thing.
In a Midlife Unlimited® exclusive, Sarah reveals the title of her new charity song for Rowan that she is recording as part of her journey of transforming “pain into purpose, and shadows into light”.

The mother-in-law. Chances are we have one, are one… or will one day be one.
But why oh why does this role get such a bad rap?
The hard-faced dragon… the monster-in-law. And the butt of many jokes.
It’s yet another time for us to reassess our ever-evolving role as a Midlife mum!
So just how can we go about navigating the emotional minefield of sharing our child with their new partner that becoming a mother-in-law entails?
If this resonates with you as a Gen X woman, join your host Kate Porter The Midlife Metamorphosis Coach® and her guest The Mother-in-Lawsome and Brilliance Coach at Jenuine Consulting Jenny Gordon for Episode 036 as they talk about How to be a Perfectly Imperfect Mother-in-Law.

The pair share insights and advice on how to avoid the dreaded risk of alienation in our metamorphosis to mother-in-law by finding our place in this new and ever-evolving relationship structure and owning it our way.
And Jenny, who’s on a mission to rewrite the mother-in-law narrative, unveils her top tips for how to face losing our “top female” status and embrace this new role free from the fear of walking on eggshells.

Do you put things in a safe place? Your host Kate Porter does – then more often than not forgets where that safe place is, thanks to a brain fog moment.
And as for owning stuff… don’t get her started.
With 61% of Sandwich Generation carers being women, getting our heads around the potentially overwhelming array of needs that our ageing relatives have can threaten to become a full-time job in itself. With the result that it can limit the actual time we have to spend continuing to make magical memories with our loved ones in their twilight years.
And, when they do pass, the seemingly unavoidable sadmin can add an extra layer to the grief process.
So, without wanting to sound morbid, what can we do to save our nearest and dearest from having to go through this extra stress when our time does eventually come… giving us the peace of mind to get on with living our Midlife to the max?
If this resonates with you as a Gen X woman, join your host Kate Porter The Midlife Metamorphosis Coach® and her guest founder of Dead Organised Louise Monaghan for Episode 035 as they talk about How to Make Midlife Dead Simple.
Kate and Louise share their first-hand experiences of juggling caring for elderly relatives with wanting to make these precious times count. And Louise explains how this is the driving force which has led to her creating the Dead Organised platform.
From Dostadning – the Swedish art of death cleaning – to legacy films and just what to do with that ugly vase, this episode is packed with practical advice and inspiration for ensuring life stories are not lost while enabling guilt-free stuff sorting.
And tune in for Louise’s top tips on how to we can create a harmonious legacy for both our loved ones and ourselves.

Midlife really is a time for rediscovering ourselves. We’ve had enough of not feeling enough… enough of trying to please others. Of constantly pretending to be someone we’re not – just because we feel we should behave in a certain way.
We’re sick of conforming to stereotypes. Because quite frankly it’s blinking tiring worrying about how others are judging us. And as a result, hiding our quirks. Masking the true us. Diluting our brilliance… rather than letting the real woman we deserve to be shine through in her perfect imperfection
If this resonates with you as a Gen X woman, join your host Kate Porter The Midlife Metamorphosis Coach® and her guest living nutrition and reiki practitioner and founder of AEB Wellness Vicki Holtom for Episode 034 as they talk about How to Stop Trying to Fit In as a Midlife Woman.
Like Kate, Vicki is just getting started in Midlife, and in this empowering episode the pair share their insights for how to stop conforming to societal pressure and celebrate us inside and out in our next phase.
Vicki is on a mission to shake up the narrative on how we treat our bodies and our body image in Midlife. She shares with Kate how her metamorphosis journey from a tomboy troubled by “massive body image issues” to breaking free by stopping trying to fit in has been massively liberating as she’s escaped constant fear of judgment that was holding her back from being her unapologetically authentic self .
Kate is honoured that Vicki also lifts the lid on the taboo of baby loss, sharing the story of how her son Adam’s passing has helped Vicky discover her why and drives her purpose to enjoy and embrace life.
And tune in for Vicki’s top lesson’s learned for finding what gives you joy so that we can learn, grow and evolve in this great experiment that is life.

Taking back our power is one of the most freeing aspects of Midlife. But all too often it doesn’t come easily. We are so used to giving away our power… feeling drained and frustrated as a result.
So how do we go about nurturing ourselves inside and out at this pivotal time in life? Finding our strength and cherishing it? Both on a physical level – because this really is the time to use it or lose it.
But also our inner strength, especially when navigating a heartbreak and feelings of abandonment.
If this resonates, join your host Kate Porter The Midlife Metamorphosis Coach® and her guest founder of House of KICK Sophie Pittaway for Episode 033 as they talk about How to Find Your Strength as a Midlife Woman.
Kate is honoured that Sophie lifts the lid on a taboo in this raw and empowering episode by talking openly and honestly about how losing her Mum to suicide when Sophie was 16 lead to her facing two choices of path – that of victim, or that of survivor.
Sophie passionately shares with Kate how choosing to navigate the survivor path lead her to Thailand - a decision that not just saved her live but resulted in KICK being born.
From building muscle to fasting via reassessing boundaries and choosing our pain, tune in for Sophie’s expert insights and advice for how we Gen X women can stop making excuses to ourselves and start developing a positive health routine to live our Midlife and beyond to the max.
