This week, Chris and Garrett continue their nonstop summer commentary tribute to John Hughes with an audio commentary for Pretty in Pink from 1986. Written and produced by John Hughes, the movie was directed by future Mr. Lea Thompson, otherwise known as Howard Deutsch. This film is also the last Hughes production with Molly Ringwald. Featuring terrific supporting characters played by James Spader as the despicable Steff, Annie Potts as the music shop manager Iona, and Harry Dean Stanton as Jack, grieving and out-of-work father to Ringwald's Andie. And, of course, terrific performances from the leads, Molly Ringwald, Jon Cryer, and Andrew McCarthy. This one has a lot of heart, plus controversy concerning its ending, which we talk about at great length. Celebrate the movie's 35th anniversary with us! Grab your legally acquired copy of the movie and join us for our audio commentary of this teen comedy-drama classic from the 80s!
