John 8:31-32, 36. What is the truth that sets us free? Jesus Christ is that truth and we get to know him by: 1) Spending time with Him. 2) Spending time with others that know Him. 3) Seeking His presence when reviewing our day. 4) Depending on Him.  How does knowing the truth set us free? It sets us free by: 1) Freeing us from the penalty of sin(Romans 3:22-24). 2) Freeing us from the power of sin(Titus 2:11-12, Romans 12:2). 3) Eventually setting us free from the presence of sin(1 John 3:2).  When confronting sin in your life the following are some helpful questions to walk through: 1) What is it I am doing? 2) What am I believing? 3)What is the truth? 4) What do I believe? 5) What will I do?

John 13. A continuation from last week's message delving into how Gracious God is.

Romans 3: 19-26.  Earning someone's love can be exhausting.  Likewise, the actions and characteristics we require of others to give them our love differ from person to person.  God's love is unique in that it is impossible for us to earn by our own actions and has in turn been given freely and perfectly to each of us if we only believe.  Referenced verses: Galatians 3:23-24, Zachariah 3.

John 10:11-15. When tragedy, pain, and suffering occur how can we know that God is still good?  This week's message provides insight into how our God is still an infinitely good God.  Because God is good, he suffered.  Because God is good, we do not suffer in vain.  And finally, because God is good, I don't have to look elsewhere.  Referenced verses: John 8:31-32, James 1:16-17, Psalms 119:68.

Mark 4:35-5:43.  In the first message of this five part series the question is asked: Do you really believe God is great?  In many examples throughout the Bible God is seen as all powerful(omnipotent), all knowing(omniscient) and in control(sovereign).  His power is shown over the natural world, the supernatural world, life and death, and sickness and health.  How then can we better understand this and adopt this to our way of knowing and seeing Him in our lives?  Referenced verses: John 8:31-32, Ephesians 1:11, Romans 8:28.

The Book of John.  This Easter Sunday message focuses on Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus and their role throughout Christ's life and death.

1 Peter 5:6-13. The end of Peter's letter exhorts us to humble ourselves, giving to Him our worries and anxieties because He so deeply cares for and desires for us to be in close relation with Him.  Referenced verses: Isaiah 41, 46; Romans 4, 6.

1 Peter 5:1-5.  Church Elders play a pertinent role in the life of the church.  They are called to: 1) Shepherd the flock among them. 2) Exercise oversight. 3) Be examples to the flock.  This message and passage also relate how the church is to relate to the Elders and to each other. 1 Peter 4:12-19. Peter addresses the suffering that we can expect in life simply by proclaiming to follow Christ. Referenced scripture: 1 Peter 1:6-7, Romans 8, Luke 9, Ezekiel 9, Malachi 3.

Love one another. Show hospitality to one another. Serve one another. This passage explores these three tenets that Peter calls us to live by.  In the wake of the passing of one of Midtown's core partners, Sue Gibson Wright, we remember a life richly lived where these principles were exemplified.
