Midwestern State opened a four-game homestand with two thrilling matches this past weekend. The Mustangs defeated Dallas Baptist, 3-1, and Texas Woman's prevailed in a five-setter on Saturday.

The Mustangs are hosting Milestone Night at D.L. Ligon Coliseum this Friday night at 6 p.m. as Angelo State visits, and MSU continues its pursuit of an LSC Postseason Tournament berth with an 8-6 conference record. Midwestern State is recognizing the milestones reached by members of this years team and celebrating the 40th anniversary of the inaugural 1985 team.

UT Permian Basin visits on Saturday evening as the match gets underway at 5:30 p.m.

Kae Lani Bryan was named the fourth head coach in the history of the Midwestern State softball program in July.

Bryan, a native of Picher, Oklahoma, joins the Mustangs after seven seasons as the head coach at Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott, Kansas. She is the all-time winningest coach in Fort Scott history with 122 victories.

Bryan led the Greyhounds to a school-record 40 wins in 2024 and the first-ever Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference title in program history.

Midwestern State completed its five-matach road trip with a thorough victory at Eastern New Mexico on Tuesday night, and the Mustangs finished 2-3 on the trip

.

Stephanie Radecki thinks the team learned a great deal about itself over the last two weeks and is optimistic about the upcoming matches at home, where MSU is 8-0 this season.

The Mustangs are hoping to spoil any Halloween fun for Dallas Baptist as the Patriots visit Midwestern State for a Friday night match at 6 p.m. The following evening MSU hosts a surging TWU squad at 5:30 p.m.

Midwestern State faced conference-leading Central Washington on Saturday night at Memorial Stadium, and the Wildcats pounced on the Mustangs in the second quarter with 35 points. In a game delayed twice by lightning, CWU prevailed 56-13.

Explosive plays continue to be a problem for the Mustangs, who are on the road to face another challenge this week.

Western Oregon has won four in a row since suffering a 35-7 loss to West Texas A&M in its conference opener.  The Wolves have a good rushing attack that will challenge the MSU defense in Monmouth, Oregon on Saturday afternoon.

Midwestern State showed its vintage form in a 2-0 win over West Texas A&M at Stang Park on Sunday afternoon, and Michael Meachum is hoping his team can maintain its mindset over the final three games of the season, which the head coach sees as crucial in order to assure itself an NCAA Tournament bid.

The Mustangs enter the final stretch of the season with a game at Lubbock Christian, and the Stangs are unbeaten away from home this season. MSU is also 10-0-4 in its all-time series with LCU, including a 5-1 victory at Lubbock two years ago. 

The final home game of the season is Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. as Sul Ross State visits the Mustangs for Senior Day.

Midwestern State extended its unbeaten streak to 12 games with a 1-1 draw against UT Tyler on Sunday afternoon, and the Mustangs remain unbeaten in 18 home games. 

The regular season home finale is Wednesday evening as the Mustangs face UT Permian Basin.

Mable Pruter recorded her sixth assist of the season, and her fifth in the last six games, as she set up Lillia Besedin's equalizer in the 79th minute against the Patriots. 

Besedin has scored a goal in each of the last three games, and is tied with Marlene Myrvold for the team lead with six goals this season.

Much of the goal scoring has come from set pieces, which makes the Mustangs a tough team to defend.

Breakdowns in special teams and missed assignments on defense led to Angelo State defeating Midwestern State on Saturday night at LeGrand Stadium, 48-24, but Rich Renner and the Mustangs are ready to get back to business as they prepare to play the highest-ranked team in the Lone Star Conference - Central Washington - for homecoming on Saturday night at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Midwestern State split a pair of five-set matches to begin its five-game road trip. The Mustangs defeated UT Dallas in a five-set match on Friday and was the victim of a reverse sweep at UT Tyler on Saturday. MSU is fifth in the conference with a 6-3 record in the LSC, and the Stangs are 13-5 overall. This week, MSU is traveling to South Texas for matches with Texas A&M-Kingsville and Texas A&M-International in Laredo. MSU also has a match with Eastern New Mexico before coming home again.

Midwestern State looks to regroup after a stunning 2-0 home loss to UT Dallas on Saturday night, and head coach Michael Meachum has a blunt assessment of his team's performance. The Mustangs have uncharacteristically struggled at Stang Park this season with a 2-3-1 record, but the Mustangs have a chance to improve that mark as they host West Texas A&M on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.

Midwestern State has extended its unbeaten streak to 11 games after a 2-2 draw with St. Mary's in San Antonio last week, and a 3-0 win over Angelo State at Stang Park on Saturday night.

The Mustangs have not lost a match at home in two years. The unbeaten streak at Stang Park is now at 17 games.

Dating back to last season, the Mustangs have an eight-game winning streak on home soil, and MSU welcomes UT Tyler for a homecoming weekend clash on Saturday at 11 a.m.
