Midwestern State wrapped up a three-game homestand, including two games in the Ashbrook Classic. The Mustangs made a furious rally against East Central but fell short in the final game of the Ashbrook Classic. MSU saw a 15-point lead in the fourth quarter evaporate against Oklahoma Baptist in its final game before conference play begins on Nov. 30 against TWU, which went 2-0 in the Ashbrook Classic. Reay is disappointed but not discouraged by the 0-3 homestand.

Midwestern State has started the season 0-3, including a 67-64 loss to Northwestern (Okla.) in the home opener. But head coach Justin Leslie says MSU fans should not panic and explains why he remains optimistic about the 2022-23 Mustangs, who are headed to Nampa, Idaho, for two games in the NNU Thanksgiving Classic. MSU faces Central Washington on Friday at 3:15 p.m. and Northwest Nazarene on Saturday at 8:30 p.m.

Midwestern State was hoping for a better result from its first two games in the LSC/RMAC Challenge, but head coach Justin Leslie discusses why he is still optimistic about what the Mustangs can accomplish this season. Midwestern State makes its home debut Thursday at 7:30 p.m. as Northwestern Okla. visits D.L. Ligon Coliseum for the first time in 12 years.

The following night, MSU defeated UC Colorado Springs, 80-72, using a balanced attack and shooting 53.7% from the field over the final three quarters. The Mustangs are home for two games this week, hosting the annual Ashbrook Classic. Midwestern State will face Southeastern Okla. and East Central. Tipoff on Friday for the first game against the Savage Storm is at 6 p.m., and Saturday the Mustangs take on the Tigers at 4 p.m.

MSU will now face the No. 2 team in the nation as undefeated Angelo State visits Memorial Stadium for Military Appreciation Day. Kickoff on Saturday is set for 1 p.m.
