The Stang Gang Podcast for Tuesday, May 26 features Midwestern State men’s basketball alum Charlie Logan. Logan earned four leaders for the Mustangs from 2007-11 under coaches Jeff Ray and Grant McCasland. He helped MSU to two Lone Star Conference championships and NCAA Division II Elite Eight appearances. Logan was honored with the 2011 Marie Morgan Award presented annually to the most outstanding male and female student-athletes at Midwestern State. That year, he boasted the team’s top GPA as a kinesiology major eventually graduating from MSU in 2012. During his time at Midwestern, he was a mentor in the Wichita Falls Independent School District while also volunteering with the Special Olympics and Boys’ and Girls Club. He is currently wrapping up a principal internship at the Agnes Cotton Academy, pre-K through 8th-grade facility within the San Antonio ISD. Logan is set to graduate with his master’s degree in education leadership from Trinity University in August.

The Stang Gang Podcast for Friday, May 22 features Midwestern State men’s tennis alum Luke Joyce. Joyce graced the men’s tennis program with outstanding play and leadership during a career which spanned from 2010-13. The 2013 Marie Morgan Award winner was a three-time All-Lone Star Conference performer in singles and capped his career as the league’s player of the year in 2013 while also gaining all-conference honors in doubles on two occasions. His leadership and true sportsman qualities were also recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association claiming the organization’s top honor – The Arthur Ashe Award. Also an exceptional student, Joyce was an ITA Scholar Athlete and was named to the LSC All-Academic Team in 2013. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology from Midwestern State in 2014, his master’s in molecular and cell biology in 2016 from the University of Texas at Dallas where he is now working on his PhD.

The Stang Gang Podcast for Thursday, May 21 features Midwestern State men's soccer All American Daniel Woolard. He became the first Midwestern State student-athlete to earn National Soccer Coaches’ Association of America first-team All-America honors following his senior campaign in 2006. A model of consistency, Woolard made 80 starts on the back line helping the Mustangs to 60 wins, a pair of Southwest Soccer Conference titles and an NCAA Division II region finalist showing. Selected in the fourth round of the 2007 Major League Soccer supplemental draft played 85 fixtures over six season in the MLS for the Chicago Fire and D.C. United. Upon retirement, Woolard enrolled in law school at Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctor in May of 2019, then obtained his State Texas Bar attorney license in October. As an FIFA agent, he is a co-founder of Felkrem, a sports marketing agency.

The Stang Gang Podcast for Wednesday, May 20 features Midwestern State men’s basketball All American Robert Harris. Harris is one of just four student-athletes in the storied history of the men’s basketball program to score 2,000 points finishing a career that spanned from 1983 to 1987 as a two-time NAIA All American. He remains MSU’s third all-time leading scorer with 2,085 points posting two of the best individual seasons in program history averaging 22.6 points per game as a junior and 21.6 as a senior. Harris is making an even larger mark first as a basketball coach, then as a highly noted high school administrator serving students throughout the State of Texas in Wichita Falls, Seguin, Somerville and Killeen before landing in the Northside ISD in San Antonio an 18-year stay at John Jay High School before he was picked to guide the brand new Harlan High School beginning in 2017.
