Why doesn’t Anakin have yellow eyes all the time? People often refer to those yellow eyes as Sith eyes, but that’s a misconception. Your eyes don’t immediately turn yellow when you become a Sith. Dooku’s eyes hardly ever turn yellow in The Clone Wars series. That happens when any person fully immerses themselves in the dark side. The Star Wars Visual Encyclopedia says, “When rage and anger seethe inside a dark side user, their eyes may burn yellow with a fiery-red rim.” Palpatine is always full of rage and anger, so his eyes are always yellow once the Jedi are gone and he no longer has to hide his feelings. But Anakin’s only turn yellow when he fully commits himself to the dark side, and he is certain of his actions. When he’s killing the Separatist leaders, and when he lets himself fully hate Obi-Wan. I think his eyes don’t change color when he’s attacking the Jedi Temple, because he was conflicted about that. It was something he had to do, not what he wanted to do. #starwars

Blaster bolts were created by turning different types of energy-rich gas into a hot beam. Different kinds of gasses produced different colored beams. Blue blaster bolts were most commonly seen during the Clone Wars, because it was an ion-based blaster bolt that was more effective against droids. Since the Separatist Army was primarily made up of droids, the Clone Army of the Republic fought them with blue blaster bolts. But that’s not to say they weren’t lethal against organic beings. The Jedi were killed just fine despite not being droids. The Resistance was also seen firing blue blaster bolts. Maybe we could rationalize them as having hand me down ammunition from the Clone Wars, similar to the way they had to use outdated ships and starfighters donated by the New Republic. #starwars

What are the three arena beasts in the Geonosis arena? The rhino-like creature is called a Reek. From the planet Ylesia, they were normally herbivores with yellow, gray, or brown skin. But if they were fed meat, like the one on Geonosis, they would become more aggressive, and their skin would shift to a deep red. The giant insect-like creature is an acklay. Found on the planet Vendaxa, they were amphibious crustaceans that mostly lived in the water, but would emerge to land to hunt for food. Finally, the nexu was the massive cat-like animal. They were native to the planet Cholganna, but had spread to other worlds like Saleucami. They had four eyes that could sense body heat through infrared vision, and quills on their back similar to a porcupine. As dangerous as they were, nexus could be tamed and trained. #starwars

Why was DJ in jail in The Last Jedi? That story is told in the one shot DJ: Most Wanted comic that came out around the same time as the movie. Basically he was running a bunch of scams in the city under the alias Denel Stench. He had stolen some currency from a bunch of shady characters and then installed some sort of virus on it. He then purposefully lost it all in the casinos, and then the infected credits would pass the virus around, which would eventually give him a big payout. But all the people he scammed start looking for Denel Stench. The walls start closing in around DJ and he basically gets himself arrested so he doesn’t get killed, and prepares to leave Canto Bight as quickly as he can. #starwars

What planet was Starkiller Base built into? This is one of my favorite Star Wars mysteries that was revealed slowly over time until finally being confirmed in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Starkiller Base was once the planet Ilum, a sacred world to the Jedi where younglings would collect their first kyber crystals in a ritual called The Gathering. After the rise of the Empire, they learned of the secret planet’s location, probably thanks to the fallen Jedi who had become Inquisitors. The Empire began construction on Ilum as early as one year after the end of the Clone Wars, and continued on for about five decades until it was finally completed. Its kyber-rich interior made could be harnessed into terrible power, similar to the way the Death Star’s superlaser was powered by kyber crystals. #starwars

The Occlusion Zone was a territory of the galaxy for only a year or two during the High Republic era. A marauding group called the Nihil set up a network of devices that destroyed any ship traveling through hyperspace across their borders, effectively cutting off a corner of the Outer Rim from the rest of the Republic. What’s more is that the devices could be expanded or contracted at will, and so the Nihil pushed their borders several times to absorb more worlds, all of which were helpless to resist. The Occlusion Zone grew to include worlds all the way into the Mid Rim, including Naboo and Eriadu, the homeworld of Grand Moff Tarkin. #starwars
