At the strong request of China and the international community, Japan agreed to international monitoring and China's independent sampling of the discharge of Fukushima nuclear-contaminated water, and pledged to ensure the continued implementation of such monitoring activities. On this basis, China and Japan held multiple rounds of consultations regarding the resumption of Japanese aquatic product exports to China. Japan committed to a series of credible and visible measures to ensure the quality and safety of aquatic products exported to China, and to strengthen supervision.

In accordance with Chinese laws and regulations as well as international trade rules, and based on scientific evidence such as monitoring data collected by all parties and careful analysis so far, the competent Chinese authorities issued a notice yesterday to conditionally resume imports of aquatic products from certain regions of Japan that meet China’s standards.

The relevant Chinese authorities will continue to strengthen regulatory measures to ensure food safety for the public. If any risks are identified, necessary import restrictions will be promptly imposed in accordance with the law.

2. Does China’s resumption of Japanese aquatic product imports mean it acknowledges the safety of the Fukushima water discharge?

China's position of opposing the ocean discharge remains unchanged. It is just because of China’s firm stance and active efforts, the international supervision of the discharge has been effectively strengthened. We will continue to work with the international community to urge Japan to honor its commitments by taking long-term, concrete actions to effectively control the risks of the water discharge.

3. Since the ban remains in place for seafood from 10 of Japan's 47 prefectures, including Fukushima and nearby ones, when will China plan to lift the ban on them?

However, during product development, we raised the price a few times until we reached the figure of 17 thousand euros - that is a profitable price - because product development is very expensive - from the box itself - there are two boxes, one is wooden and inside is a carbon box in which when a young lady who buys them or receives them as a gift, does not drag the whole wooden box with her down the road, but only a small carbon box in which the shoes are stored.”

STORYLINE:

It's not quite Cinderella's glass slipper, but it's still a shoe fit for a fairytale princess.

These high heels are made with precious materials: gold plated soles and porcelain rose decorations.

The fancy footwear is the creation of Aleksandar Bracer, a third generation shoe-maker from the northern Serbian city of Novi Sad.

 

Designed for ladies “who walk on gold,” his high-heeled shoes are made to give an air of luxury but remain resilient and light to wear.

 

Bracer came up with the idea after seeing other luxury footwear that wasn't well made.

”I often get expensive, branded shoes brought to me for repair, but the quality is not worth the money they pay. And then I wanted to make some shoes that will only be made of exclusive materials and not using standard shoes that have pressed cardboard inside, or branzol, what you step on. We used carbon, so we didn't use anything cheap,” he explains.

 

It wasn’t easy or quick.

 

Bracer and his team spent five years trying out various combinations of materials.

Porcelain-only heels were easily breakable and too heavy, so he added carbon for both lightness and firmness.

Elegant and romantic at the same time, Bracer’s shoes have leather uppers and leather soles plated with 24 (23.75) carat gold, and porcelain roses attached to the heels made from made of carbon fibre and epoxy resin.

Delicately-crafted, the roses are made by a Hungarian company specializing in porcelain.

 

So far, Bracer has exhibited his shoes at Paris Fashion week and in Dubai, where he said they attracted much interest.

But these come at a cost.

In the crowds gathered, rainbow flags and banners with messages such as "There's nothing to cure" could be seen above the sea of colorful costumes.

In April, the case of Sara Millerey, a 32-year-old trans woman who was brutally tortured and abandoned in a stream, caused a stir. This incident was used as an emblem to push for the passage of a transgender integrity law currently being processed in the legislature.

Meanwhile, a United Nations expert recently warned of the discrimination and exclusion that persist against that community in Colombia.

A heat dome has spread across parts of France with the national weather agency forecasting temperatures of up to 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) in western and southern parts of the country.

Authorities issued an orange alert, advising people to stay hydrated, avoid travel and sun exposure during the hottest parts of the day and to check on children and the elderly who may be more vulnerable to the effects of the heat.

Ron Dermer, a top adviser to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was set to travel to Washington this week for talks on a ceasefire, an Israeli official said, and plans were being made for Netanyahu to travel there in the coming weeks, a sign there may be movement on a deal.

Inside the crowded camps across the strip, patience has long worn thin.

Thousands of protesters gathered in front of the Georgian parliament on Sunday at the start of the seventh month of protests calling for new parliamentary elections.

"In the situation that the world is in now, it's needed, I think, and I think it's only fair and right that women participate equally with the men, but I think there's also some challenges to me when you're not used to that many women, like perhaps the equipment and the uniform, often times it's too big, or there's a lot of loopholes you have to jump through to get everything to work."
