"So, I would say robotics is part of AI, really. If you look back at the early days of AI, they were all about using robots to do amazing things. The things that we are seeing today that are on the market for AI are mostly things that do not involve physical presence. They don't have to act in the real world. They don't have to touch things. So that's what robotics does, is it really brings this virtual world together with our physical world, and that's a lot harder. So, we are not going to see these tremendous, really super fast advances in robotics the same way we have in AI. There's just not that much low-hanging fruit and when you have to work in the real world and things are unstructured and you want to be really careful about people, it takes longer."

"Just like you see technology advancing in all different aspects, there are some things that have happened that have enabled us to make advances now that we weren't making, even though we have maybe the same ideas 10 or 15 years ago, now because of advances in computing and we can compute and do things so much faster, some of the things we couldn't do before we could do today. So for example, all of the advances in AI are really due to advances in computing because we now can process all of this data fast enough. We couldn't do that before. And the exact same algorithms that we were developing when I was in graduate school and they kind of petered out, now those same simple things are giving us these amazing results. And that's actually enabling a lot more applications and advances in spaces that we never had before."

  • Flowers honor victims of deadly shooting outside Capital Jewish museum in DC
    (23 May 2025)
    RESTRICTION SUMMARY:
    ASSOCIATED PRESS
    Washington - 23 May 2025
    1. Wide pan from street signs to Capital Jewish Museum
    2. Various of flowers, jewish symbols and written messages left outside the building to honor shooting victims
    3. Mid of flowers with media in the background
    4. Wide of people walking past the Capital Jewish Museum
    STORYLINE:
Mourners keep adding flowers and notes of support onto a makeshift memorial outside the Capital Jewish Museum Friday after two staff members of the Israeli Embassy in Washington were shot and killed while leaving an event earlier this week.
The two people killed, identified as Yaron Lischinsky, an Israeli citizen, and Sarah Milgrim, an American, were a young couple about to be engaged, according to Yechiel Leiter, the Israeli ambassador to the U.S.
The stunning attack prompted Israeli missions to beef up their security and lower their flags to half-staff. It came as Israel pursues another major offensive in the Gaza Strip in the war with Hamas that has heightened tensions across the Middle East and internationally, and that law enforcement officials have repeatedly warned could inspire violence in the U.S.
The accused shooter told police after his arrest, “I did it for Palestine, I did it for Gaza,” federal authorities said Thursday in announcing charges in the killings they called a targeted act of terrorism.
Elias Rodriguez, 31, shouted “Free Palestine” as he was led away after his arrest, according to charging documents that provided chilling new details of the Wednesday night shootings in the nation’s capital.
Rodriguez faces charges of murder of foreign officials and other crimes and did not enter a plea during a perfunctory court appearance. Additional charges are likely, prosecutors said, as authorities continue to investigate the killings as both a hate crime against the Jewish community and terrorism.
An FBI affidavit made public Thursday presents the killing as calculated and planned, with authorities alleging that Rodriguez flew to the Washington region from Chicago on Tuesday with a handgun in his checked luggage. He purchased a ticket for the event about three hours before it started, the affidavit said.
The couple were leaving the Capital Jewish Museum when the suspect, who witnesses said had been behaving suspiciously by pacing outside, approached a group of four people and opened fire. Surveillance video showed Rodriguez advancing closer to the two victims as they fell to the ground, leaning over them and firing additional shots. He even appeared to reload before jogging off, the FBI said.

"No-one cares about player welfare," he said. "We will have to make some changes."
Maresca was speaking before Chelsea's final Premier League game of the season at Nottingham Forest on Sunday, a game they must win in order to make sure of Champions League football next season - Forest are also in the running for a top five finish.
On Wednesday Chelsea will be in Wroclaw, Poland for the UEFA Conference League Final against Real Betis.
Five members of Maresca's squad have been called up to Thomas Tuchel's England side for games against Andorra on 7th June and Senegal on 10th June, and just six days later Chelsea are scheduled to play their first match at the CWC in Atlanta, USA.
"The problem is that we have a game Sunday and Wednesday, a European final," Maresca, said. "No-one cares about that. No one cares about player welfare."
"If they're going to be tired (in the US), they're not going to play. How can you manage that? It's simply like that."
"I don't think there's any attention paid to (if) players are healthy or these kind of things. It's not normal the amount of games they play."
"For me it's not normal and it's not correct," he said. "I can understand that people are thinking 'they earn (a lot of) money,' but it's not about money, it's about health, it's about protecting players."
"My feeling is because of the amount of games they play, I don't think they (FIFA) pay attention."
