    STORYLINE:
South Africans expressed their support on Thursday for their President Cyril Ramaphosa after his confrontation with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington D.C.
Trump used a White House meeting to talk about baseless allegations that white farmers in his country were being systematically singled out for persecution and murder.
Instead of pushing back on Trump by himself, Ramaphosa encouraged Trump to listen to other members of his delegation, including pro golfers Ernie Els and Retief Goosen.
Reacting to the meeting, Johannesburg resident Gift Nxumalo said he felt Ramaphosa "handled the situation very well".
Kyle Kemp, another resident, echoed similar sentiments, saying that Ramaphosa "represented the country well".
The U.S. president, since his return to office, has launched a series of accusations at South Africa’s Black-led government, claiming it is seizing land from white farmers, enforcing antiwhite policies and pursuing an anti-American foreign policy.
Ramaphosa rejected allegations of genocide in South Africa, which has a painful history with race.
Once an apartheid country, it was ruled by a white minority known as Afrikaners.
The system of racist oppression ended three decades ago, and some tension remains despite largely successful efforts at reconciliation.

So, I thought it would be a nice idea if I could draw live but also draw hidden, and then the idea for the ATM came about because I’m actually very interested in art where the artist doesn’t necessarily make the art but it’s more about the idea of the art. So, by having a work like this, I actually invite the audience to become the artist because it’s their prompt, it’s their idea.”

    5. SOUNDBITE (English) Vladimir Jovcev, World Food Program official: ++STARTS ON PREVIOUS SHOT; PARTLY OVERLAID WITH SHOT 6++
"What we brought is definitely not enough, but we hope that the borders will remain open and we'll be able to bring more aid into Gaza. 2.2 million people of Gaza - almost everyone depends on humanitarian aid. Symbolically you know, the smell of fresh bread is the smell of hope. So we hope that you know, the borders - we appeal for the borders to remain open, the crossings to remain open and then we’re able to bring more humanitarian aid to assist everyone in here.""
    6. Various of loaves of bread moving along in bread-making process
    STORYLINE:
For the first time in over a month, the Bana bakery in Gaza's central city of Deir al-Balah has opened its doors after the United Nations World Food Program was able to bring in flour to bake Arabic flatbread, a local staple.
The stacks of bags of wheat flour and the dozens of loaves of freshly baked bread being bagged by the bakery workers was rare good news for the Palestinians of Gaza, who have struggled with a dire humanitarian crisis after Israel closed off the border crossings.
Vladimir Jovcev of the U.N.’s World Food Program said it was "definitely not enough... but we hope that the borders will remain open and we'll be able to bring more aid into Gaza."
He added, that the smell of fresh bread was symbolically "the smell of hope."
Israel imposed a blockade on all imports, including food, medicine and shelter, at the beginning of March, shortly before ending a ceasefire with Hamas.
It announced an easing of the blockade this week and has allowed around 200 trucks to enter since Monday.
But U.N. agencies say Israeli military restrictions and the breakdown of law and order in Gaza make it difficult to retrieve and distribute the aid.
As a result, little of it has so far reached those in need. Around 600 trucks entered per day during the ceasefire.
Aid groups have collected humanitarian aid carried by about 90 trucks, out of a total of nearly 200 that have entered Gaza since Israel began allowing limited goods in earlier this week, the United Nations said Thursday.

I mean, I think U2 are an incredibly important band not just because of the music they've made but because of all the activism they've been involved in over the years, and that's very dear to my heart. "They were killed because they were Jews and because they're Israelis. Here, they were going to get married back home in our city, Jerusalem. And there's no excuse in the world for creating terror, targeting innocent people like this, the world must wake up and collaborate together against terror and the roots of the terror."

"Everyone must understand that terror is not just an Israeli challenge, it's a global challenge. And if it happens here in Washington, it could happen anywhere around the world. And we must all unite to combat terror together. We must never allow something like this to happen, not here in Washington, not nowhere in the world."
    5. Police on scene
    STORYLINE:
Two people shot and killed outside a Jewish museum in Washington were young staffers at the Israeli Embassy who were soon to be engaged. The suspect shouted “Free Palestine” as he was being arrested.
"Everyone must understand that terror is not just an Israeli challenge, it's a global challenge and if it happened here in Washington, it can happen anywhere around the world," Nir Barkat, the Israel Minster of Industry said at the scene.
Israel identified the victims as Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky, without giving their ages. They were leaving a young diplomats event at the Capital Jewish Museum when they were killed on Wednesday.
Lischinsky had bought an engagement ring and was just days away from proposing to Milgrim on a planned trip to Jerusalem, according to Israeli Ambassador Yechiel Leiter.
