Iran on Tuesday warned the United States that any direct support for Israel would prompt an immediate response from Tehran. Iranian ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva said, "If we come to the conclusion that the United States is directly involved in attacks on Iran, we will start responding to the U.S."

Ali Bahreini, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations in Geneva, told reporters that he saw the U.S. as "complicit in what Israel is doing."

The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman also said that any American intervention would be a "recipe for an all-out war in the region."

The deputy prime minister will face down questions from MPs in the Commons, with the grooming gangs national inquiry which was announced on Saturday (14 June) likely to be at the forefront.

She could also be pressed on Labour's promise to “smash the criminal boat gangs”, as figures show that more than 1,700 migrants arrived in the UK in small boats last week.

This week’s PMQs comes ahead of an announcement that HS2 is expected to be delayed by at least a further two years, with transport secretary Heidi Alexander telling MPs that there is “no reasonable way to deliver” to meet the 2033 target.

The government is also publishing its Bill to reduce the welfare budget by £5billion, including controversial cuts to disability and sickness benefits.

MPs have voted to decriminalise abortion in England and Wales in a historic step that will usher in the most far-reaching change to reproductive rights in decades.

After an emotional and impassioned debate in the House of Commons, MPs voted by 379 to 137 in favour of the reform.

Footage of Donald Trump accusing then-president Barack Obama of wanting to start a war with Iran in 2011 has resurfaced amid reports that the US president is considering launching attacks on Iran.

A member of Irish rap band Kneecap, Liam Og O hAnnaidh, also known as Mo Chara, appears in court on Wednesday facing a terrorism charge.

O hAnnaidh is accused of displaying a flag in support of Hezbollah during a performance in November. The band has claimed to have "plastered" London with messages backing their bandmate ahead of his court appearance.

The 27-year-old is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday following the alleged incident during a gig at the O2 Forum in Kentish Town, north London.

Mount Lewotobi Laki Laki in south-central Indonesia erupted on Tuesday (17 June), sending a towering ash plume 10,000 meters into the sky.

Authorities raised the eruption alert to the highest level and extended the danger zone to 8 kilometers.

The eruption followed an intense spike in volcanic activity—50 incidents in two hours, far above the daily average. No casualties were reported. Ash clouds were seen from cities 90 to 150 kilometers away.

“Yes, this is the first time I have seen an eruption this big,” said local villager Frans Kino. Residents were warned about possible lava flows triggered by rainfall.
