New animation shows the moment a massive earthquake struck Russia and triggered multiple tsunami alerts across the world.

An 8.8 magnitude earthquake struck off the country’s far eastern Kamchatka Peninsula on Wednesday (July 30), causing flooding in the coastal town of Severo-Kurilsk.

The powerful tremors also raised tsunami alarms in regions such as New Zealand, Chile, Japan, Hawaii, and the US west coast, prompting evacuation orders for millions of people.

A video released by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Research on Thursday captures tsunami waves surging through the Pacific Ocean as a result of the seismic activity.

Several people were injured in the earthquake. However, no major damage was reported.

A mysterious “orange shape” seen on surveillance footage near Jeffrey Epstein’s cell before his death has caused forensic experts and Justice Department officials to clash over what – or who – it may be.

In the Bureau of Prisons video obtained and reviewed by CBS News, a shadowy figure moved towards the sex offender’s cell block in New York’s Metropolitan Correctional Center at about 10.40 p.m. on August 9, 2019, just hours before Epstein was found hanged.

According to a report by the DOJ’s Office of Inspector General, the orange blob is believed to be a correctional officer “carrying linen or inmate clothing” up the stairs to the convicted sex trafficker’s tier.

At around 4pm on Wednesday, Nats, the main UK's main air traffic control provider, said “a technical issue” at its Swanwick air traffic control centre in Hampshire meant it was “limiting the number of aircraft flying in the London control area in order to ensure safety.”

Across in Brussels, Eurocontrol – which coordinates air traffic control across Europe – was rather more specific, saying London’s airspace was “temporarily unavailable.”

The fault appears to have been fixed within 40 minutes, but the disruption continues into Thursday, with at least 15 more cancellations of flights to and from London’s airports.
