Highway patrol officers were called out to save a pig from one of South Carolina's busiest interstates, footage shared on Sunday (27 June) shows.

The animal was rescued without injury and traffic got moving again, South Carolina Department of Public Safety said.

"Thanks to Richland County Sheriff's Department for their assistance at the scene and helping ensure this little piggy had a good home after the incident," the department added.

A father and daughter were rescued from the water after the young girl fell off a Disney Cruise ship on Sunday (29 June).

The Disney Dream was returning to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, following a four-night cruise in the Bahamas when the “man overboard” alarm was sounded.

Millions of “lovebugs” have invaded South Korea, swarming hiking trails and urban areas across the capital.

Clouds of the insects, which do not transmit diseases or sting humans, can be seen flocking over the peak of Gyeyang Mountain in Incheon city.

Footage shared on Tuesday (1 July) shows hikers swatting away the insects, with workers later seen clearing up the dead bugs dotted around the park.

The bugs, officially called Plecia longiforceps, were given their nickname due to their unusual habit of flying around in pairs.

They were first detected in Seoul in 2022 and have since become a mainstay across the capital every summer.

A 3.5 metre tall Superman sculpture has been hung from the exposed spire of the UK capital's tallest landmark. Weighing in at over 120 kg, the model of the iconic DC Comics superhero was created by a team of over 20 people at 3D Eye production house. Fred Tucker, Director and Head of Production at 3D Eye revealed, "We've got all our metal tested. It's all been assessed by a structural engineer to be hung in The Shard, so yeah, he is literally a 'Man of Steel."

A father and daughter were rescued from the water after the young girl fell off a Disney Cruise ship on Sunday (29 June).

The Disney Dream was returning to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, following a four-night cruise in the Bahamas when the “man overboard” alarm was sounded.

The unnamed girl reportedly fell from the fourth deck. Her father jumped in to grab her and treaded water before the pair were rescued.

It was not immediately clear what caused her to fall.

A Disney Cruise Line spokesperson said: "We commend our Crew Members for their exceptional skills and prompt actions, which ensured the safe return of both guests to the ship within minutes. We are committed to the safety and well-being of our guests, and this incident highlights the effectiveness of our safety protocols."
