Ximena Arias-Cristobal, a 19-year-old undocumented college student, remains in ICE custody after Georgia police admitted she was mistakenly arrested during a traffic stop.
All charges were dropped when officials confirmed she was not the driver who committed the violation.
However, because Arias-Cristobal is in the U.S. without legal status, she was transferred to Whitfield County Jail, which has an agreement with ICE — allowing agents to detain ‘removable’ immigrants in ICE custody, where she now faces deportation.
