MIGsy Film Club

Every year around Halloween Josh convinces Christine to watch a couple of spooky movies. This year it was John Carpenter's adaptation of Stephen King's Christine and the original Final Destination. It turns out having the same name as a killer car can make you a fan of it and we may or may not have ended up getting back on the mics after watching all 5 Final Destination movies!

After a year inside, we've returned to seeing movies in theaters (but still watch some at home). First, we break down where Cruella stands in the lineup of live-action Disney remakes/reimaginings. Then Josh details the flaws of F9 and how it manages to save the last 1/4 mile. Finally, we hit on why we couldn't finish In The Heights and instead watched Good on Paper. The movies are back!

Just in time for the holiday Josh and Christine watch the new Adam Sandler Netflix Original: Hubie Halloween. We decide if it's worth a watch for Halloween or as a movie in general. We also think we've cracked the Adam Sandler code and how he may be a secret genius when it comes to living life.

Christine and Josh get into spooky movie season with the classic psychosocial horror thriller The Shining. Christine doesn't usually like scary movies but can this one win her over? We also break down what's really going on, what happened behind the scenes, and the legacy of the film. We then watch the Simpsons and South Park versions to see how they compare.

We're bored in quarantine so we decided to watch last years "Charlie's Angels" and Pod at the same time. It's not a commentary, we just pause incrementally to give our thoughts. It's a film that bombed and got terrible reviews. Was it justified or was it negative hype? Josh & Christine will break it down.

Its Independence Day time and Disney+ is streaming Hamilton! Christine and Josh watch it for the first time ever and share how they thought it was on the small screen. We also watched the Drunk History episode about it and later, Josh rants about what's happening right now with theatres and the movie industry.

Christine and Josh go back to the turn of the millennia when Brendan Fraser was the Hollywood "It Man". We relate to Blast from the Past in Quarantine and it's late 90's glory. Then we examine wishes gone wrong in Bedazzled. How do these classics hold up 20 years later? We discuss.
