Hi Everybody. With the COVID 19 crisis and my own conflicts, I haven't been able to consistently have guests over to record or produce any other content. With that in mind, I'm bringing Season 1 of Mike Marlow's 12 Months of Christmas to a close.
I'll be back for season two in a couple of months with new guests and new specials. And I may even put out some bonus content in between now and then. Thank you so much for listening!
Poor yourself some blackcurrant cordial and join Mike and guest, Connor O'Hara, as they enjoy the idyllic Mole's Christmas. It's a timely special with the message that being stuck at home isn't always so bad. Other topics of discussion include being a business boy and how many Fred Schneiders it takes to wash your hands.
Sarah Nelson stopped by to record before we all went into self-quarantine mode. We discuss Secret Santa, cannibal sandwiches and the performative aspects of gift receiving. Then we crack open the story of Pokey's First Christmas.
We're back to our regular format with an extra long episode and an extra special guest! Michelle Gilliam joins Mike to talk about Leap Day traditions, timely names and Christmas gift balls. Then, they watch Arthur's Perfect Christmas and see if it lives up to the name.
In an intimate change of pace, Mike honors his guests' generosity in sharing their time and stories by telling some of his own. Then, he shares five essential, must-watch holiday films. Snuggle up with a cup of cocoa and enjoy some cozy one-on-one time with Mike.
It's our Valentine's Day special! So who better to talk about the holiday of love than two single guys who don't really have anything to say about it? Guest Robbie Imbrie joins Mike to discuss hectic Christmases, staring at unopened presents and scary decoration prank wars. Then, they dive into The 12 Days of Christmas, the untold story behind Christmas' most tedious carol.
Oh Brother! This episode features our first pair of guests. The Pappas Bros. join Mike to discuss Chris "Mindfreak" Angel, The Feast of The Kings and 90's tech. Then, the boys enjoy the notorious Christmas special known as The Christmas Tree.
This episode's guest is Neal Steeno. Join us as we discuss being a New Year's Chameleon, almost learning "the Santa Truth" and checking out nudey mags at Lifest. Then, we discuss the 1992 special, Christopher the Christmas Tree.
Merry (day after) Christmas! Episode 3’s guest is Tony Tenaglia. Join us as we discuss Moscow Mules, presents for puppies and Cran-Barry Manilow. Then, we watch A Cranberry Christmas. Berry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
This episode features Ken Kuschel talking about DA BEARS, great gifts and lil' Goodfellas, and we watch the surprisingly existential "A Family Circus Christmas."
