Mike is wary about Vladimir Putin invading Ukraine but is not concerned about a movement to get New Hampshire to secede from the Union. Somehow the subject turns to cremation and Dennis sees himself turning into a potent cannabis creation. Lorie and  Mike dissect the Penguins hot streak, Keith Yandle’s Ironman streak, and the first female assistant GM of an NHL team.

Our guest today is Dr. Hockey, Jay Calvert, a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon who has his own hockey podcast. Sammy P will get us up to date on those Penguins and the big NFL games. And in Life is Strange we’re going to give some love to the grandmother who scammed a scammer.

Mike feels the tremors from a Trump-DeSantis pissing contest but also fears for the Dems who have no viable presidential contenders. Dennis seems to favor a doomsday scenario.  

Mike and Lorie chat up the wake-up call the Bruins got last night and what’s a Fight Club podcast without some Tuukka Talk? The Montreal GM hire and Tampa’s tireless Victor Hedman are also up for discussion. 

Jim Matheson, the Hockey Hall of Fame writer who is lighting up the internet due to his spat with Leon Drisatal,  will give us the lowdown on the Oilers both present and in the Gretzky days. 

We’ll see if Sammy P is still rejoicing over the Coyotes first win of the season as favorites on Monday over the hapless Habs and we’ll get into the betting favorites for the Hart Trophy. And in Life is Strange, Lorie wonders if even Dennis would fall for one women’s effort to impress her dates with drinks and flowers.. that she sent to herself.

Mike wags his finger at the protestors outside Boston Mayor Michelle Wu’s home. In NHL news, we’ll dig into what’s upside down in Edmonton, and are things really upside up in Boston? 

US Olympic hockey team coach David Quinn will give us the lowdown on his team and the hurdles encountered in even putting the team together.  We have Sammy P on to find out how the Bruins 5 game winning streak will affect their Stanley Cup odds….and don’t be surprised if some football talk enters the conversation.  And in Life is Strange Lorie has a town you don’t want to move to unless you have your appendix out. 

Mike gives his impressions about the epic NFL game between the Chargers and the Raiders. He was at the Patriots game in Miami and among other things, found the cheerleaders distracting. Mike and Lorie talk about the line changing and re-energized Bruins, that crazy goal-tending situation of theirs, and some odd comments from former Bruin David Krecji. Canadian broadcast veteran John Shannon will take us on a tour of the teams north of the border. And then there’s the story about the two-block walk he took that changed his life. NESN’s Sammy P dishes about tonight’s college football championship game. And Lorie has Life is Strange stories about revenge-seeking women and a father and son duo who are making some serious dough by dropping their draws.  Where can I get a job like that? 

Mike rings in the New Year with a less than ringing endorsement of New York City. You know when Mike Milbury is quoting Andy Cohen that it has to be bad. One good thing about the Big Apple is the resurgence of the toughened-up Rangers. Suddenly there are other teams, including the Avalanche and Penguins that are legit Cup contenders as well. Mike also gets breathless talking about that Cale Makar goal. And in more NHL news, the Bruins have changed their Pasta recipe. Today’s guest is Pete Mahovlich who tells us what it was like to play for the winningest coach in NHL history.  Pete also fills us in on his nine rings…two Calder, one Stanley, and three wedding. Sammy P discusses the “Vegas Flu”, which has nothing to do with Covid, and how it affects oddsmakers, Tampa Bays chances of a third cup, and the team that is a good bet on the futures market. Hint: see above teams. Finally, Lorie G re-visits with the lady who sells her farts in a jar and the maskless woman who solved her problem by ripping off her dress.
