Our next guest, Mike Morgan, comes to us from two previous and fantastic QB Dadcast guests, Coach Bruce Brown and Coach Marty Osborn! Thank you!
Coach Mike Morgan is the Head Football Coach and Band Director for Colfax High School in Eastern Washington. Today's episode is filled with so much wisdom, so please ensure you're in a spot to take notes! Coach Morgan grew up around education and the service of others. His dad was one of sixteen children who grew up in West Virginia, learning the values of hard work, accountability, love, family, faith, music, and more! You will hear about his family members who still play musical instruments at the age of 90! Mike's father was a Korean War veteran, and his mom was a nurse. His parents would move the family to Eastern Washington, where his dad went to Central Washington and his master's & doctorate from the University of Montana.
Coach Morgan will tell a story about how he coached football at Washington State University, including the famous Drew Bledsoe! Mike eventually made the difficult decision to leave WSU and follow his passion for coaching and teaching at the high school level. His decision to leave coaching at the collegiate level was also due to being unable to spend quality time with his children.
Additionally, Coach Morgan will talk about how he and Bruce Brown met, including the work he does now in the summers to inspire and teach the philosophies of Proactive Coaching.
Lastly, Coach Morgan talks about building outstanding student-athletes, loving your children unconditionally, no matter what they decide to do, and creating great human beings that will bring positivity to the world!
