We can pretty much all agree that we don't expect a ton from the QB position this year so if you had to pick one group that the Seahawks need to step up most this year, who would it be? Maura picks the Pass Rush, Justin says the O-line, and Salk gets specific w/ the Safeties based on how much they've invested at the position. The final guest of the Mike Salk Show is Tyler Polumbus (104.3 The Fan) in Denver who tells us "Nathaniel Hackett answers to Russ." The Broncos media and fan base are still in the honeymoon phase but there are some reasons to wonder if this could go South.

The Mariners overcame a lot yesterday to win in a 12-hour day at the park and yet again continue to show that they can do - but Salk says this is what good teams do this time of year. Salk hasn't been shy about his Pedro Martinez comp for Luis Castillo and decides to take it one step further to profess his love and admiration for Luis by singing Aerosmith's "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" to him and it's not creepy at all... until it is. Robert Turbin (in for Brock Huard) joins to discuss game week of the NFL!

After the longest day ever, the M's escaped Cleveland at midnight and completed two sweeps to return home 6-0. It's better than you could have hoped for but the Blue Jays and Rays keep winning, too. This is going to be a battle to the end and Salk says he doesn't want to hear anything about playoff percentage odds. Maura takes us 'Around the Weekend' to hear the M's recap, UW 45-20 over Kent State, WSU 24-17 over Idaho and the Seattle Storm fall to Aces in an OT thriller.

It's Friday so Salk takes your calls on everything Seattle sports. Then, Robert Turbin joins the show for a friendly debate with Salk on his take that Russell Wilson took a deal with Denver that he wouldn't have taken here because they offered him more control. Plus, another edition of Ranked.

The Sam Haggerty spiderman “catch” was something to behold and it really is one of those moments that reinforces why Jerry said winning teams have guys like him, Salk says he gives him David Eckstein vibes. NW native Matt Boyd's pure excitement at getting the chance to play for his hometown team was really cool to watch and is such an important piece to a bullpen alongside Chris Flexen. Fridays are for open phones & Seattle Sports fans to ask questions, express theories & share concerns.

After such a big weekend with a lot of huge Mariners moments, what was the best thing we saw from the M's in Detroit? Salk goes through the options but says Ty France looking like himself again is by far the biggest deal and most important moving forward. Salk's theory on the Russell Wilson contract is entirely about control. He signed the deal in Denver that he wouldn’t in Seattle because of it, he says, but former Seahawks RB Robert Turbin (in for Brock) disagrees and shares his own perspective.
