Salk describes his next guest as "one of the biggest off-ice moves in Kraken history!" as former NHL great turned TV analyst Eddie Olczyk joins the show ahead of his 2022 season as the newest ROOT Sports broadcast crew alongside JT Brown & John Forslund. Every Thursday means a fresh episode of The Jerry Dipoto Show and Salk has a lot to get to with how the Mariners seem to be "revving in neutral" and Ty France's bat goes cold. First time all year Salk has been mad at the Mariners. Not at anyone in particular; just mad. Only scoring one run on a solo shot to a lousy team like that? That can’t happen at this point. Salk goes through Pete’s process on choosing a quarterback to see what we learn, but settles on if the locker room hasn’t decided, and Pete hasn’t decided - I guess you go with the incumbent because maybe Drew hasn't done enough to win it outright. ESPN Seahawks Insider Brady Henderson fills in for Brock Huard to share his read on what happens next w/ the team.

ESPN's Brady Henderson joins Mike Salk to discuss where the Seahawks quarterback battle stands, whether we can read anything into the comments Pete Carroll made on what he wants in his starting quarterback, and if Jimmy Garoppolo is still a possibility.

Salk opens the show with the news of the return of Brock & Salk and explains more of his excitement to start on September 6th. Brock, Salk, Maura & Justin attended yesterday's Mariners matinee game to see George Kirby break an MLB record w/ 24 straight strikes and Julio Rodriguez become the youngest player (and first Mariner since 2002) to join the 20/20 club, but still fall to Nationals 3-1... and Salk is NOT happy about it. We revisit yesterday's conversation with Jeff Passan to hear a blueprint for what signing Julio Rodriguez to extension would look like.

The Mariners are in the throes of the Wildcard race--Brock & Salk pick their 5 most important players in the home stretch of the 2022 season. Salk heard an interesting rumor about Jimmy Garappolo--could the Hawks be expecting Jimmy G to be their starter as early as week 1 if he gets cut next week?

Mariners score 4-2 in the first game of a homestand and Salk asks at what point did you start thinking Robbie Ray might actually throw a no hitter? It wasn't meant to be, but it's been good to see him return to Cy Young form as of late. Pete Carroll says they are going to use all the time they need for the QB competition and maybe they have two number one QB's? We revisit yesterday's conversation with Joe Fann before diving head-first into 'Fire' themed songs for the newly-nicknamed Mariners Bullpen: Los Bomberos could uses.

Adam Schein says this is the most pathetic QB competition of all time and the Seahawks are where "hope goes to die." Yikes. Salk admits there is going to be a dip this year but is it really this bad, or is that just a hyper exaggeration? Matt Maiocco says the 49ers will most likely cut Garoppolo next Tues and they believe he will sign with the Seahawks the next day. What do you think the chances are that this happens? Is Jimmy Garoppolo really still an option?
