Episode 5 (“reg-ass podcast No. 2): The format of the podcast begins to take shape. Becoming disenfranchised with sequels and the components of a movie communicating whether a movie is worth watching are both discussions. I rail about not needing the backstory for villains and how tenuous ties to franchised films is cheap. We discuss character and texture of films.         

Episode 4 (Intro to the “reg-ass” podcast): Taking a break from “The Sopranos,” Mike and I begin ambling through our thoughts on politics, pop culture and observations on relationships and life in the Bay Area — and swear a lot.

Episode 3 (Season 1, Episode 2: “Denial, Anger, Acceptance”): The central conflict of Season 1 begins to coalesce. Conversation around expectations of where that is headed and the archetypes of some of the characters

Episode 2 (Season 1, Episode 1: “46 Long”): Mike and I discuss the high brow/low brow dichotomy of the series. We elaborate on the effectiveness of Tony’s therapy sessions as a sounding board for the audience to get a better grasp on the psychological undercurrent of the violent nature of the show.

Episode 1 (Season 1, Episode 1: Pilot, aka “The Sopranos”): With an episode under his belt, I pick Mike’s brain about some of the narrative devices employed from the show’s outset. We discuss impressions of the characters. I allude to some themes that become staples of the show.

Episode 0 (Introduction): Prior to watching “The Sopranos,” Mike and I kickoff the podcast by discussing his expectations as someone who has never watched the show. I go on a diatribe about why “The Sopranos” is the best show ever. We discuss the show’s cultural significance, legacy and impact on today’s television landscape.
