Christmas is so special. What with the lights and the Christmas movies and time together, it is easy for me to see how wonderful this time of year truly is. But Christmas, as cozy and warm as it is, also highlights pain more than any other time of the year. It's a reminder of those no longer with us, and the sorrow that this Earthly world brings. Today I felt deep in my heart to remind us and myself to hold space for both the joy and sorrow that Christmas may bring. Maybe you've lost someone this year and the thought of Christmas seems difficult without them. Or maybe you yourself have had trauma and are looking for a way to cope through life's struggles. I hope you find this podcast to be cathartic. And I hope you know and understand that no matter the amount of pain you may find yourself in this Christmas, that there are others who feel that with you and are here with you to hold space for both grief and joy.
Song Mentioned: "Snow" - Sleeping at Last
The time has finally come to have my twin sister, Kenzie on the podcast! We talk all things about being twins: the good, the bad and the embarrassing! Please enjoy our big laughs and our unfiltered selves! This is us, and it's a beautiful thing!
Friends, this episode is one of the scariest to post. It's scary because it's important and because it deserves a conversation and a place at the table. I'm talking about counseling and my experience, and why I didn't want to go and why I finally chose to. It seems very vulnerable to share what I did, but I hope it helps break the stigma of counseling, even in just a small way. I hope you find it insightful. Feel free to share with a friend! Thanks for listening!
It's not everyday where you get to reminisce about your childhood with one of your childhood best friends. Thats exactly what I got the privilege of doing today! Heather (Worrell) Cain and I sat down over Zoom and made a list of our top 10 Childhood movies! We span from Mary Kate and Ashley all the way to Alexa Vega and everywhere in between! I hope this podcast brings you joy as Heather and I laugh about our childhood and attempt to rank the most iconic movies of our past! What will our #1 movie be? I guess you'll just have to listen to find out!
Connection is such a vital part of our lives as human beings. Today I explore what connection is, the importance of it in our lives and ways that we can connect with others. I also had a short conversation with my mom, a licensed Councelor, so she could share some science behind connection. As I kept exploring the questions to today's topic, Cherish Tusing also gave some insight to connection and intentionality in our relationships. This is a "don't miss" episode and i hope it inspires you to be present in all your relationships and to connect with those around you.
For a BIG Disney Pixar Fan, one of the hardest things to do is to rank these incredible movies! Pixar has made 23 movies so far and I put them in order from movies I least want to watch to my current all time favorite movie! Thank you so much to everyone who listened last week and everyone who listens to this podcast! Your support really means so much to me!
On this week's episode of Miles and Minutes, we dive into the BIG topic of moving during childhood. I talk about my experience moving from Florida to Arkansas, tips for making new friends and ways to help new people. I even got to talk to a former military kid, Kaylee Holland about the topic. Special thanks to the 14 people who shared their experience with me about moving AND to Kaylee Holland for giving the GOOD insight! I hope this episode helps people feel less alone and also validated in the ups and downs of moving during childhood. Thanks so much for listening to this week's episode!
