Miles Davis hired John Coltrane for a national tour in 1955. On the road, the two bonded over their mutual passion for music and an almost fanatical desire to push the art form forward. Miles's unconventional approach gave Coltrane an opportunity to refine his burgeoning sound, and together they made some of the most seminal jazz albums of all time, including Kind of Blue.
