What do I always say, as Mixed folks we are MORE not LESS, and yet we are viewed as percentages and "less than" member of a race or ethnic group because of our Mixed but the fact that we are Mixed shows we are "more than." This week, I am joined by Maïko Le Lay, the new Caucus Coordinator for Critical Mixed Race Studies (CMRS). In this episode we discuss her experiences living in multiple countries while Mixed and how and when her "Mixed identity" developed.

To learn more about Maïko Le Lay, Ph.D, please check out her website at www.MaikoLeLay.com.

Please go to CMRS website to learn more about the various Mixed Caucuses.

I wanted to share some thoughts and hold space for the Asian American, Asian immigrant, and Mixed Asian communities regarding the recent mass shootings in Monterey Park and Half Moon Bay. A total off 11 killed and 9 wounded in Monterey Park and 5 killed in Half Moon Bay by two elderly, Asian men. These are both very violent and confusing incidents for the Asian Diaspora. I wish to acknowledge it, pay my respects, and hold space for the community.

If you would like to make a donation to the Monterey Park Victims Fund, please visit their GoFundMe. There is also a fund for the victims of Half Moon Bay, on GoFundMe as well.

Please follow accounts such as the ones listed below for information on healing events and more information on issues that impact the Asian Diaspora.
