Millennial Moments

Today I am catching up with Kahaari Kenyatta, a fellow Penn alum who I met on the streets of Manhattan on the night of my 21st birthday party. Kahaari was a health and societies major and has since worked in the healthcare and market research fields. We talk about the really weird spot of your mid-20s, urban health disparity, grief + grief in the workplace, the importance of finding a passion outside of your career, and masculinity in 2019, among many other things!

Today I'm talking with my dear friend Sophie Miranda about the power of our thoughts, calming the mind and getting grounded, creating healthy boundaries, toxic relationships, breakups, and a multi-hyphenate career.

Today I am talking with Chelsea Connors, a millennial coach and therapist. Chelsea is a Certified Life Coach supporting twenty-somethings during the difficult transition to adulthood through individual and group coaching. She has a master’s degree in Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and is registered as a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She is a Licensed Professional Counselor-A in the state of South Carolina (currently based in Charleston) and has completed her Board Certified Coach (BCC) credential through the Institute for Life Coach Training.

This week I'm talking to 23-year-old Khalil Jones, an entrepreneur in the fitness industry. Khalil and his two brothers are identical triplets, and together they founded Triyo fitness, a fitness organization based in Philadelphia that helps clients lose fat, build muscle, and transform into the best versions of themselves.

This is a special episode because I am talking to one of my childhood besties, Betsy Boggs! Betsy just completed her Master's degree in Education, Culture, and Society from the University of Pennsylvania. She is pursuing doctoral study . in order to continue research on rural spaces and education reform.

Today I'm talking with Ana Maria Conneely, a 32-year-old yoga teacher and massage therapist based in London. We talk about the importance of understanding the mind-body connection from a holistic perspective, and how tuning out our emotions can have a physical impact.

This week I'm talking to my dear friend Laura Kali. Laura grew up in a small town in New Zealand and moved abroad to London just over a year ago. In this episode, Laura busts the "snowflake" myth and explains why our generation is simply not willing to put Band-Aids on problems anymore. We talk about adult friendship and why there is a need to redefine "selfish" when reclaiming our self-worth.

In this episode, I am joined by Gina DeCagna, a London-based American artist, writer, and editor producing and consuming at the intersection of the visual and literary arts. Gina and I met in college at the University of Pennsylvania and have been able to reconnect as expats in London! Among many things, Gina and I talk about the importance of art in today's society, transitions, standing up for yourself in the workplace, and how the political situation is affecting freedom of expression.

On this week's episode, I talk with Allee Sprung about how she balances her 9-5 job in NYC with her other passions. We dissect the anxiety that can spark from our generations' "hunger for more" and how change doesn't necessarily have to mean loss.

Today I'm joined by Nina of @Yiflow, a 26 year old Londoner with a background in music (she studied Music Business at Berklee College of Music) & corporate start up life. She is now assistant manager at Re:mind, a meditation, breathwork, & healing center in London. Nina shares her journey from music student to young professional in NYC to learning how to listen to her intuition in London. This conservation will be especially inspiring for anyone looking for advice on how to quell anxieties around needing to DO and perform in order to succeed, and for anyone feeling that the "hustle" sometimes takes the fire out of our true passions.
