PJ, a licensed therapist, reacts to episode 2 of the Netflix series “Bad Vegan: Fame. Fraud. Fugitives”. As PJ explores, Bad Vegan contains so many great examples of emotional abuse and what we call “predatory behaviour”; the kind of behaviour where an abuser manipulates and coerces their partner solely for the purposes of meeting their own needs and satisfying their own selfish gratification.
In the first episode PJ discussed how Sarma is the quintessential ‘prey’: kind, thoughtful and people-oriented. Unfortunately, this also makes her a real target. In the second episode, PJ breaks down Mr. Fox’s constant coercion and manipulation of Sarma, to the point of turning her most loyal friends against her.
We encourage you to watch the show itself before listening to this episode, and check out this episode on youtube if you want to get the most out of our breakdown!
After the show launched, Sarma also spoke out against how the series ended and the impressions this ending left audiences with. We strongly encourage everyone to check out Sarma’s Instagram for more: @sarmamelngailis
