Palm Sunday. 30% more random than usual. St. Joseph and St. Patrick being usurped by Holy Week. Fulfilling your destiny even if you don't want to do it. Embracing things. Anticipating new life, but first, death in the tomb.

Fifth Sunday in Lent. The living dead. We're mostly there, we need to do something about that. Bringing life back into our lives, trying to emerge from the culture of death. If you're going to be a zombie, let God give the orders.

Fourth Sunday in Lent. Dave is in San Francisco. Spirits rush upon him (while he's laying in bed). How do you know anything? You usually don't. Fruitless works of darkness, and political posturing (possibly the same thing). Hills.

Third Sunday in Lent. Lent is moving along really well. The woman at the well; physical sustenance versus spiritual. Jesus doesn't pay any attention to social rules. And then there's money. This is like us talking about sex: we don't have any experience with this either. But we talk about it anyway. Ad nauseum. The worst ending ever.

Second Sunday in Lent. So this week we talk about sex and religion, prompted by the recent Valentine's Day holiday. We probably don't know what we're talking about, but we talk about it anyway. Some talk about lust, some about romance. Which is more honest? Honesty is important.

First Sunday in Lent. Not so much talk about sex, but we talk too much about politics and religion, prompted by the recent Super Tuesday (also Mardi Gras). How politicians manipulate people's religious feelings, and their political platforms to conform. We wander into separation of church and state. A lot of temptations.

Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time. But we don't really care. So we talk about the movie "Groundhog Day", since it was yesterday. It's not quite Lent, but we seem to be suffering early. We talk a little bit about The Presentation, since it's the same day. There may be some sacrilege here.

Second Sunday in Ordinary Time. Beginnings. Lighting up the world. Your quantum in the beam of light. What should you really be doing other than, obviously, driving a Jag? Operating within the framework that you live in, and maybe avoiding all the shiny objects, but what you do where you are may affect a larger sphere than you intended.

The Baptism of The Lord. Time to change the world. Being chosen: it's not always the obvious choice (it could be you!). The established hierarchy is always moving. Things don't usually work out the way you planned. So you just need to go where you were headed anyway. You may need to invoke a little faith. And try not to medicate everything; it will stunt your growth.
