I recently did a collab with Plyful*, a pattern subscription site that offers monthly featured designers with exclusive interviews, patterns and masterclasses. And I had the most fun! Sandra from Nomad Stitches is the Platform host and is a designer herself as well. 

In all my years designing and doing commissions, I have never seen collab terms that were more mindful from the designer perspective.

Hi crochet design friends! 

How are you? I hope you are well. I am simply swamped, but in a good way. 

Busy with a new pattern release + creating all of the audios, videos, assignments and workbooks for The Immersive. My new program that will give you all the tools you need to create a design that's so great, it does the selling for you! (Social media fatique anyone?) 

I actually did not plan this episode, but as I was going over an audio for The Immersive, I thought to myself, this is so amazing, I really need to share it with you guys! 

When we want to create our best design yet, we think we need to do more:

* Cram 20 techniques into one design in order for it to be valuable

* Make it really complicated for ourselves and others 

* Make sure it is original and intricate, because simple isn't worth paying for (which is a myth btw)

 
 But here's the thing, we actually want to do less. And I know that sounds very counterintuitive. But in this episode I go over why doing less is one of the key things that helps you create your best design yet.

But because I've been talking a lot about having a unique crochet design style, I received some remarks and questions that I want to clarify. 

In this episode I adress the most common misconceptions around having a unique crochet design style: 

• Having a style is like putting myself in a box 
• Having just one style sounds boring 
• A unique design is something that's very complicated and screams attention and that simply isn't me

Hey crochet designer friend! 

How are you doing? I hope you are well.

As a beginning crochet designer, I struggled a lot with finding my voice. And as a result, other crocheters didn't make my designs. And this stung a bit, because even though it was just a hobby of mine, it took a lot of time and energy to design something from scratch and write down the pattern...

I mean, as crochet designers (or aspiring ones), there's nothing more special than scrolling through Instagram and seeing a design of yours made by someone else! I cannot tell you how amazing that felt when it happened to me the first time (and still feels, btw)

And, as crochet designers, is this not what we are all looking for? 

Imagine how amazing it would feel if someone would create what you have come up with and even tell you what a joy it was to make… 

This, to me, is what it’s all about. Giving the joy of creating to others and sharing something you love.  

Looking back, I can totally see why my crochet design journey was going nowhere and I am sharing it with you in today's podcast episode! 

And I wouldn’t be me if I also would not share what got me my big breakthrough as a crochet designer and how we can get yours too :)

How were the holidays for you? I don't know about you, but I just love the Christmas holidays.
 
I always come back a different person. Being able to fully relax and connect back to myself and my fam. To also really disconnect from the day-to-day and all of those to-do lists that come with that.
 
So maybe not a different person, just a person that's closer to her true nature.
 
I just released a new podcast episode that I'm really excited to share with you.

Because I did  A LOT of reflecting, journalling and envisioning (is that even a verb?) and I have made a drastic decision that will impact how I will move forward with Christina Crochet Coach.

I just wrapped up hosting my 8-week "Overstory" crochet-along, and the experience was absolutely amazing. It got me thinking about how crochet-alongs have completely transformed my design journey, and they might do the same for you. The mistakes I made in my first CAL taught me so much, and now I want to share these lessons with you.
