Here we go with another round of Footprints and Photographs! Kristin and I recently took a hiking trip to Parfrey’s Glen near the Wisconsin Dells. We’ve spent a lot of time hiking around Wisconsin since her and I have been together, but we have not found a place as enjoyable as Parfrey’s Glen! I can’t recommend it enough to any hikers out there looking for an “off the paved trail” kind of experience. With that said, our day didn’t stop there! We pulled a last second audible and decided to stay overnight in the Dells. We booked a cheap motel, checked in, and called a Lyft to take us to the main strip of downtown. I’m really glad we made the decision to stick around because we filled the next 6 hours with nothing but fun. We hopped between bars, checked out various tourist stores, whipped down the Wisconsin River in a jet boat, braved our way through the Haunted Mansion, and topped off our evening by treating ourselves to a haunted boat tour. All in all, we made the right call not to go home. It was a much needed weekend and I got to spend it with my best friend. ❤️

Hello, friends! In October of 2009, the gaming community was introduced to a game—which later turned into a franchise—far ahead of its time: Borderlands. To this day, the original Borderlands is one of my favorite video games of all time (Far Cry 5 is #1). Shortly after the original rolled out, Borderlands 2 & 3 were next in line; BL4 is currently in production. With that said, 15 years after BL1 was first released, they finally made a movie out of the game! August 9th, 2024 was the scheduled release date. I was completely shocked and ecstatic when the big news hit. I’ve had so much nostalgia wrapped around this franchise that I felt like a little kid again when I first saw the movie trailer. I was sure to see the movie on opening weekend! With that said, I wanted to get behind the mic today and talk about the experience—including my history with the Borderlands franchise, big differences and similarities between the movie and games, as well as my overall impression that I left the theater with. If anyone out there is looking for new games to try out, put the Borderlands series at the top of your list!

Folks, it’s a huge day for our family! If you’ve followed Footprints and Photographs, you’ll know that my step-son is expecting a child this December. We are pleased to announce that as of August 6th, we have been given the news of what gender to expect! We are so god damn excited; we cannot wait to meet the little one soon. With that said, tune in to find out if it’s going to be a boy or a girl! My guess was girl. Congrats, Dillan and Rebekah!! We love you both very much. 💜

We started off by talking about Men’s Mental Health month (June), which eventually led to conversations about bow hunting season and archery in general. It was a great time! Good afternoon, folks. Welcome to the monthly recap edition of Footprints and Photographs! The monthly recaps are my absolute favorite segments to record because there is so much to cover and reminisce about. With that said, July was an eventful month for us. The weather was fantastic, the water was warm, and the sun kept us outside and active. We took advantage of the favorable weather by cramming in as many bonfires, photo shoots, hikes, and afternoons in the swimming pool as possible. We had a lot of special events on our plate as well—including starting my new job, the Hraban’s 4th of July party, Kylle’s birthday, seeing the Broadway production of Moulin Rouge, RVP’s day at the botanical gardens in Hale’s Corner, cruising through the Shamba Safari, and Tonkie and I's wild weekend in the Wisconsin Dells. I’m happy to report that the Exposure page associated with this segment turned out to be our biggest page (81 photos) of the year! I’m very proud of the photographs that Red Velvet Photography was able to capture. Thank you for tuning in!
