We all make mistakes. In hindsight, there are many things we’d do differently given the chance. Some of those things are small and easy to accept, while others are monumental and weigh heavily on us. We may feel guilty or ashamed of how we treated someone, or (mis)handled a situation. The emotions are painful, raw and run deep. We desperately try and lock them away, put them out of our sight and out of our mind in an attempt to avoid the pain of remorse and regret. What happens instead though, is it stores in our body as trauma and infiltrates every aspect of our life.
Listen to this week’s Five Minute Fix to release shame and guilt and begin processing the trauma from past events. Leaning in to the feelings that come up give them passage to exit your body.
