The transition into motherhood impacts our physical, psychological, emotional, social and spiritual state. Throw in a global pandemic and you've got a whole lot of lonely moms trying to figure out how to be healthy and whole in isolation. Even moms who aren't new to the parenting game have been thrown a loop and are starting from scratch all over again.
Almost exactly a year after her second conversation with M4M, Elizabeth Cheroutes joins us for Mental Health Awareness Month to discuss maternal mental health during these challenging times and why finding your people is so important for new parents.
Elizabeth takes a special interest in the unique experience of new and expecting parents and has dedicated several years to understanding the dynamics of perinatal mental health. She is the co-founder of the Jackson Perinatal Advocacy Project. She has lived in the Jackson Hole Community since 1992. Elizabeth works as a social worker and therapist specializing in trauma-informed care. She is active in many local social service agencies. She is a former President of the Wyoming Chapter of National Association of Social Workers.

We were super thrilled to announce our first face-to face community conversation post-covid. Because we also offered this conversation via Zoom, we were testing the technical waters and had originally hoped to post this conversation on youtube as well. But unfortunately, some glitches made that impossible. Thank you for your patience and for listening to this important conversation!
We are welcoming KARISSA AKIN with Iksplor to discuss how to lead a purposeful life -- in spite of it all! You might be familiar with Iksplor's amazing local community clothing line for families. You might not know that Karissa has been through a lot in life, including the loss of her brother and father. But she never let that stop her from living a life of purpose and inspiring others, including us, along the way. In this discussion she not only offers her story, but also what helped her turn her tragedies into triumph!

Our last Community Conversation in May 2020 was led by Heather DeVine of People Spread Love on the release of expectations. Enjoy a meditation focused on noticing our thoughts and letting them come and go without giving them too much energy. She discusses the birth of her passion project, People Spread Love and about her rebirth into motherhood and encourages other mothers to share their stories because everyone has something to teach through their own unique experiences.
Heather DeVine is a wife, mother, creator, and love spreader. She moved to Jackson from Richmond, Virginia with her husband Mike in 2011. Their love for the wide open spaces kept them here to stay. She works as a Creative Director at Gliffen Designs and loves helping businesses grow. Heather enjoys hiking, skiing, journaling, running and dancing. She loves writing letters to her friends and family so naturally she started People Spread Love in 2016, a movement that spreads love to people facing adversity through notes of love.
Heather is a proud mother of Elliott. She wants to support other mothers that need a little compassion and love as it transforms their lives. Mindfulness for Mamas has been a tremendous support for her as she was reborn into a mother, a completely new “her” to discover.
