The holidays can be really stressful, I want to help you reduce that stress by giving you some tips for planning ahead for your spending and ways to reduce your spending so you can really enjoy this time of year.

Start setting money aside as early as you can.

Create a spending plan and stick to it.

Only spend money on things that are important to you and bring you joy! It's okay to say no.

Evaluate your spending when the holidays are over and use what you've learned for next year.

This the third episode over retirement accounts and is the last of the most common types of accounts available. 

The Roth IRA is unique when compared to the Traditional IRA and 401k because you contribute after tax dollars, can withdraw your contributions without penalty at any time, and can withdraw earnings (after meeting certain criteria) without penalties or income tax.

A 401k isn't the only option when saving and investing for retirement. IRAs are a great tool in planning for your retirement future. Today, I'm sharing what you need to know about a traditional IRA.

In 2019, almost half of households headed by someone 55 or older had no retirement savings at all, according to the U.S. Government Accountability Office.

It's really important to think ahead about your retirement begin planning early.

What are sinking funds? How can you use them?

Sinking funds help you prepare for the unexpected, plan for irregular expenses and plan for the fun things you want in life!

That money you're saving each month? Categorize it and give it a "job" so that you know exactly what you're planning for. Plan ahead of major purchases, save monthly for those irregular expenses instead of it hitting your budget all in one month, or put money aside for the things that make you happy! 

You can do this with a simple excel spreadsheet or utilize an app like YNAB to create your sinking fund and start planning for your future!
