Tamaraw or the 𝘉𝘶𝘣𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘴 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘴is classified as Critically Endangered on the Red List of Threatened Species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. This dwarf buffalo is endemic or known to exist only in Mindoro, Philippines. You can easily distinguish it by its short, backward-pointing, V-shaped horns which it shakes to signal aggression.

Apo Reef Natural Park is one of the largest and best-preserved atoll-like reefs in the Philippines. This natural park located in Occidental Mindoro protects the second largest contiguous coral reef in the world and serves as a sanctuary for many species of marine and terrestrial wildlife.

Naujan Lake is the fifth largest lake in the Philippines. It is also a wetland of international importance under the Ramsar Convention. The protected area supports large populations of waterbirds, including the threatened Philippine Duck, as well as other species of migratory birds. NLNP has significant socio-economic importance but a myriad of factors that threaten the environment of the lake and its surrounding forested areas.
