April's episode on the MindTrip Podcast welcomes Los Angeles techno flag-bearer David Flores aka Truncate. David was introduced to the electronic music world at a very young age, DJing across Southern California. His producer career started a few years later with his first records under his David F and Audio Injection monikers on labels like Monoid, Stimulus, 4 Track & LA label Droid Recordings while in 2011 he launched his own imprint, also named Truncate. Since then, he had countless EPs and singles on platforms like Token, Hotflush Recordings and Blue Hour.

His latest works are two collaborations: HYD, with Dotdat on Truncate Records, and an upcoming shared work with James Ruskin on Blueprint. His sound moves around deep, raw and jackin' techno and that's exactly what you are about to enjoy on this exclusive 60 minutes mix featuring a great surprise on the closing with a smooth jazzy track from 1991.

The 55th edition of the MindTrip Podcast, comes from the west coast of USA and it's courtesy of Drumcell. Real name Moe Espinosa, he has was born in San Gabriel Valley, a culturally diverse neighborhood that still breeds inspiration for his work. San Gabriel Valley is also where he and the Raíz brothers, Vangelis and Vidal, met and founded Droid Behavior in the early 2000s which lead to the infamous Interface warehouse series and launch of the techno label Droid Recordings. He has a long history as a dj and producer of original and remixed tracks on his own label Droid as well as on CLR, Electric Deluxe, Dystopian, Torque, Detroit Underground, and much more.

In 2016, Drumcell debuted his ambient project HYPOXIA on his experimental label BL_K NOISE. Inspired by science fiction soundtracks and the sounds of artists like John Carpenter, Wendy Carlos, Goblin and Vangelis. Hypoxia was created to step away from the dance floor and into a broader space of contemplative drama. Drumcell explores and discovers the analogue world as much as the digital world of music production, to finally combine them into his very own raw, suspenseful and hypnotic style just like he perfectly expressed it on his debut mix for the MindTrip podcast here.

On our last release for 2020 we welcome UK's producer and label owner Rich Jones aka Operator for his debut EP on MindTrip. 'Apocryphal Truths' includes five energetic cuts showcasing his mind-bending yet still tough signature techno sounds. From the opening track Sense to Facade Crush, till the last Mycelium, you can feel the energetic, rolling heaviness covered with tripped out textures and 90's influenced Techno patterns. Operator introduced himself to our MindTrip world with his 2hrs exclusive mix on MindTrip Podcast episode 48 and we are pleased to welcome him back for his personal release work.

We wish you all a Happy and Trippy New Year!

On the last episode of the MindTrip podcast for 2020 Pfirter invited one of Portugal’s leading artists of the current techno scene, João Rodrigues aka Temudo. He lives & breathes music since he was a kid when he started his education in sound. Having initially dived into the Drum ’n’ Bass fields as Medio, he continued being eager to learn and experiment, and that was when he began exploring the sound of Techno. Up to date he has released on labels like Soma, Modularz, Clergy, Mord, Synewave, Planet Rhythm and also Hayes, a collaborative platform run by himself together with Nørbak, VIL, -2 and Osse focused on showcasing the distinct output of its artists through vinyl and digital releases. Temudo created an exceptional 60 min mix including music from Vince Watson, Diego Amura, Divide, Troy, Kwartz and much more, as well as upcoming unreleased tracks by himself.

We would like to thank all artists who have contributed with their music and mixes to our MindTrip Podcast so far and also to our listeners who continue to support every single episode. Stay safe and have a Happy Trippy Different New Year!
