This morning we discuss the wonderful work of Yesh Tikva (there is hope), supporting Jewish people facing infertility through free professional services, resources and tools, and community education. ADATH is one of more than 100 synagogues around the world commemorating Yesh Tikva's Seventh Annual Infertility Awareness Shabbat this week. This morning we share professional guidance on what to say, and what not to say, and provide a wider, more authentic context to P'ru U'rvu, to be fruitful and multiply, even if one is unable to biologically give birth.
Michael Whitman is the senior rabbi of ADATH Congregation in Hampstead, Quebec, and an adjunct professor at McGill University Faculty of Law.
