It was an amazing week of interviews with 12 UIL OAP State qualifying directors in Texas! Featured on this podcast are Natasha Tolleson, Destyne Miller, Steward Savage, Megan Moore, Billie Harvey, Sergio Sauceda, Jennifer Paton, Gena Lea Smith, Paul Fillingim, Shawn Duthie, Jon Clark, and Jessica Bentley. If you do not learn anything from this episode, you should probably retire.
Mrs. Tress Kurzym, former Texas teacher, and now Illinois inspiration, was kind enough to carve out some time from her busy schedule to chat about her time in Texas, who inspires her, and why she feels uncomfortable in the Gateway Arch (which I called "Golden Arch").
One of the people I adore the most, Ms. Darla Jones, spent a bit of time with me on the phone this week. We discuss theatre in charter schools, Texas Thespians, and a bit more. Also, back for another week of abuse is Ms. Mandi Tapia, one of the many directors that Darla has had a profound impact on. Enjoy!

This is waaaaaay off topic of education and theatre education. I expect 2 people to listen to this but I am going to take advantage of this outlet to share thoughts on the biggest weekend in wrestling, Wrestlemania weekend! Jay Thomas and I had some dinner while discussing our childish thoughts on men fighting in underwear whilst soaked in baby oil. If you too are an out of the closet wrestling nerd, enjoy. If you are just here for the regularly scheduled program, it will be back Sunday night. (Apologies for the sound. Apparently, one microphone was not cooperating.)

What an honor to have dinner with Mr. Luis Munoz, all the while picking his brain about One-Act Play, high school theatre, classic movies, and much more. Enjoy this interview with one of the most fascinating minds in theatre education to ever live.
Make sure you subscribe if you enjoy the show.

I had lunch with Mr. Phillip Taylor, formerly of Fort Bend ISD (Assistant Fine Arts Director) and is now in Austin ISD as the Administrative Supervisor of Fine Arts. We had a great chat about classroom teachers, UIL, and his days as a varsity football player. Enjoy!
This week, Jim Johnson had the pleasure of coming on Minor Wisdom and sharing some of his amazing knowledge and expertise. Fun guy, fun interview.
This week, I had the pleasure of interviewing improv extraordinaire, Missy Whitis, from (amongst other places) the University of Cincinnati. I also sat down with Mr. Alex Cannon and Mr. Ethan Mock to discuss their experiences as theatre students in high school.
This week, Dr. Jerry Ivins sat down with me to discuss his background and his experience in theatre (and UIL One-Act Play). I have another conversation with Mandi Tapia, as well, discussing OAP clinics. Enjoy!
This week is an all new version, less monotone, of Minor Wisdom! New segments and a new microphones are spicing things up for the educators out there that need some energy as we get closer to OAP season and Spring Break! Enjoy the few minutes I was able to talk with Mr. Hal Bowman and Mr. Jay Thomas.
