While most were still trying to determine if cryptocurrencies are a good asset class for investments, Ashish Singhal saw an even bigger opportunity. In 2017, Ashish with two co-founders Vimal Sagar Tiwari, and Govind Soni launched CoinSwitch, a platform on which users can compare the prices of various cryptocurrencies.
Within months of its launch, the crypto startup had achieved what eludes most startups - profitability.
4 years after its launch, CoinSwitch became India's 30th unicorn.
Ashish is now the Group CEO of Peepal Co., which owns Coinswitch and its most recent venture Lemonn - a stock investing platform that crossed the 500,000 users mark within 5 months of its launch due to what Ashish calls ‘selfish building’.
A music lover who likes to listen to songs on a loop, Ashish opens up about growing up in Meerut, his marriage and family, his journey as an entrepreneur, and the challenges of running a business in a space marked by policy uncertainty.
