When we worry, we are pulled in different directions. Our hopes pull us in one direction while our fears pull us in the opposite direction. We are basically pulled apart. Paul shows us that we can conquer worry and experience the secure mind in Christ by meeting three conditions God laid out for us.

Following Paul's words we can find how a believer can be victorious in life through contentment.

As Paul nears the end of his life, he continues to encourage the “joy and crown” of his life—the Philippian believers. In his encouragement he gives them three great commands IN THE LORD. These commands are worthy of our hearing, understanding, and implementation.

There are many who either champion or live a life that reflect the phrase, “DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO.” Many will rightfully point out such hypocrisy while looking for consistency in how people live their lives in both words and deeds. Speaking to believers, Paul reminds us how one can live consistently in and for Christ.

The Apostle Paul modeled genuine servitude to Christ, but he knew there was room for improvement. In his letter, he provides a challenge to the Philippian church by showing them three characteristics of a committed servant.

As we review the year that was and preview the year to come, we—the body of believers known as Charrette Church—must know our purpose. Not only know it, but we must fulfill it. It must remain in the forefront of our minds and the focus of everything we do—even when the path is difficult.

The shepherd’s experienced the most amazing encounter with Jesus. They witnessed the angels coming down from heaven singing and proclaiming His birth. They traveled to Bethlehem and witnessed the Messiah in person. What will they do next? What will the next day bring? See what the shepherds did and see how their actions should be duplicated in our lives today.

For the last four weeks, our church has been looking at the cast of characters in this amazing arrival and rescue mission. As we remember each of their responses to Jesus’s arrival, let’s consider our response to the fact that Jesus has arrived right here in this place as well. Jesus is here right now, wanting to be a greater part of your life or to become part of your life for the first time. In fact, if you’ve never responded to Jesus’s invitation and arrival by giving your life to Him, I will give you an opportunity to do so in just a little while. Perhaps you can already sense He is knocking at the door of your heart.

The Magi worshiped the King. It was not because they were supposed to or because He required it, but because their hearts demanded it of them. They encountered the Word who became flesh, God with us, and they were never the same again. How will you respond to the birth of the newborn King?
