In Episode 136 I spoke with expat Mara Jacobsohn. She’s been living in San Juan Del Sur Nicaragua for the last fifteen years. Mara has put in the time and designed her life in a way that allows her to move and communicate freely between locals and foreigners. She is a facilitator and doer helping everyone move forward toward a better future in Nicaragua. She has had a huge impact on San Juan but admits the community and its people have impacted her the most. Enjoy!

In Episode 133 I sat down with expat Adam Spillane in Phong Nha Vietnam. Adam is a professional caver leading tours into the largest cave in the world, Son Doong. In fact, he was on the first ever expedition into the care and has helped map almost the entire thing. In Episode 130 I sat down with expat Dwayne Dixon. He grew up in Mumbai India to a family who were some of the first colonizers when it was known as Queen Victoria Gate or the Gateway to India. Dwayne’s got a bit of a passport problem. He is eligible for a British and Portuguese passport but due to a land dispute back in India he’s having trouble proving his birthright connecting him to his royal past. It’s a really interesting story that has left Dwayne in a bit of a holding pattern the last five years much of it spent if Phong Nha Vietnam where he says he’s finally found a community he feels comfortable in and can be himself. In Episode 128 I sat down with expats Max and Jack Brewer-mccabe. Max in fifteen and Jack is thirteen and they’ve basically grown up on the road traveling around the world with their parents. The family has decided to settle in Phong Nha Vietnam cutting ties with Australia where they’re all from. I love meeting and getting to know families like this. Max and Jack are so switched on to the world. Through the adventures they’ve had, the discomfort the open road can provide and the constant conversations these boys have with the many diverse people they meet has really shaped them into well round gentleman. Their daily routine is similar to many kids and they love their video games but theirs live are so rich in experiences that would be impossible to have if the family had sayed in Australia.
