It’s Midsumma Carnival day in Narrm/Melbourne, and Katie warms up her listeners with ten gorgeous songs by Australian artists – based in Mparntwe/Alice Springs, western Victoria, Sydney, nipaluna/Hobart, the Victorian Surf Coast, Narrm/Melbourne, and Newcastle – plus a London-based artist and a Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland–based artist. Here is the playlist:

A stranger in Chinatown was making miniature bicycles in ten minutes out of a length of wire using a spray-can lid and a pair of pliers. I watched it made, and it cost me ten bucks all those years ago. The pedals spin and everything. Still one of the most precious things I own.”)
