EVIL. On this day, we reflect on a great act of evil perpetuated on American soil, against Americans. We take time to remember those who lost their lives and mourn with those who lost loved ones in this tragedy. How often have we asked, "When will the battle against evil end?" Amazingly, God has tackled this problem of evil and dealt with it head-on. God does provide a solution to evil and even provides healing to those hurt by it. What has God done to deal with evil? What is the essence of good versus evil? Why does God allow evil to take place? What remedy is there for the evil in our lives and in the world? Join us as we discuss this topic tomorrow as we look at Luke 23:44-56.

CALVARY. Familiar to many, deeply felt by few. It is a place of love. A location of forgiveness. A hill of hope. It's where God turns horror into healing. It is here God takes tragedy and reveals unstoppable triumph. Have you ever spent much time on the road to Calvary? Have you ever meditated on the final steps of Jesus? Have you ever stopped to consider the men and women at that location and what they experienced there? If you ever doubted God's love for you or may need to remind of everlasting hope, you may want to be encouraged with others as we reflect on Luke 23:26-43.

INNOCENT. Something we deeply do not feel in our souls. Our consciences speak to us something almost inescapably damning. We try to deny it, deflect it, or destroy it but our attempts are unsuccessful. Our guilt is burdensome and imprisoning. But it doesn't have to be. There is freedom and liberation for those who come to God. There is One, the Innocent One, who graciously becomes a substitute for the Guilty. In what ways do we ignore truth set before us? Why do refuse to accept spiritual freedom when offered to us? What does God do to lift the burden of guilt from our hearts? How is freedom experienced in God? We'll discuss this transformative theme as we look at Luke 22:63-23:25

TRAINWRECK. It's how many people think about their lives or this world. It's easy to draw that conclusion when it seems like everything is feeling apart within us and/or around us. We wonder if GOD even exists and, if so, what is HE doing. How does failure and disaster factor into our human experiences? Where is God when things to be unraveling? What greater purpose does God have in the seemingly destructive experiences in our lives? How does God salvage the "trainwrecks" of our lives? How do we discover MEANING and HOPE in the midst of these difficulties? We will discuss this as we look at Luke 22:39-62.

EATING. One of my many talents Deeper yet, food and our meals can have a deeply spiritual element to them. Jesus loved to gather with people, eat, and have amazing connections. The most famous meal in all of human history is The Last Supper. What we fail to realize is that The Last Supper contains all the truths we need for life and living. What do we tend to miss about this meal? What can this famous scene teach us? What does it mean for any of us to be seated at the Lord's Table? What about this supper can impact our lives on a daily basis? Join us tomorrow as we dig deeper into this event as we look at Luke 22:7-23.

JUDAS. The poster child for deceit and betrayal. A life lived so close to God and yet remarkable unchanged in deeply meaningful ways. His is a life in which he gave evil a foothold and control. While it's easy to judge at arms-length, perhaps our lives are not so different from his. What lessons can we learn from the life of Judas? How did Judas so miscalculate his life that he completely missed out on true spiritual riches? Are our betrayals beyond forgiveness or is there healing and restoration for those who sell God out? How are we to handle regret and loss in our lives? Join us for this important spiritual conversation tomorrow as we look at Luke 22:1-6

CALM. Take a deep breath. Slow down and keep perspective. It's difficult to experience calm when there's so much chaos around us. God reminds us continuously of His POWER over and PRESENCE in the midst of a world seemingly unglued. There are objective realities that can bring peace into our lives today and forever. What are these realities? How do we navigate the chaos? What brings calm into our souls? What does God want us to focus on when things are seemingly spiraling out of control? Join us as we unpack some wonderful truths guaranteed to change our lives as we look at Luke 21:25-38.

ANCHORS. We all need something to deeply stabilize us when the storms of life hit. This past year+ has shown us that what we thought we could trust in wasn't really that strong in the end. Do anchors even exist that can secure our hearts and souls in difficult circumstances? What are we to focus on, and even nurture, in our lives that will help anchor us in troubling times? What tools has God given to us to help us keep perspective in the midst of the storms?

PIETY. A word that means devotion, especially in spirituality. Unfortunately, we mostly hear of someone being "pious" in a negative context. Can piety be a good thing? The difficulty with evaluating piety is to determine the difference between external and internal MOTIVATIONS. What motivates me in my relationship with God? What motivates me in my love for others? What does my faith look like when no one is looking? What does a God-honoring, healthy piety look like? We're excited to dive into Luke 20:45-21:4 with you and praying for our time together.

AFTERLIFE. What we know and think about life after death will determine how we live our lives today and what we value as important now. Because we lack a compelling vision of our futures/eternity, many of us lack understanding and power to live the lives of joy and contentment that God has designed us to live. What are we to think of death? What does eternal life look like and how does the topic of resurrection factor into our understanding? How different will our lives be in eternity compared to our lives now? Join us for a life-transforming dialogue
