  • EP 31: Pulling Each Other Along - Interview with Dave Clark and Doug Cornfield
An amazing interview with Doug Cornfield and Dave Clark, author & inspiration for the books “A Pound of Kindness” and “Pulling Each Other Along”

A Pound of Kindness is a true story from the childhood of Dave Clark, the only professional baseball player to pitch from crutches, A National Hero of Sports winner, and an advocate for children with differing abilities. Having worked with Dave for a number of years through their Disability, Dream, and Do sports events, Doug J. Cornfield wrote A Pound of Kindness to share with children and parents alike the enduring power of a simple, thoughtful act. What began as a Kickstarter is now a children’s picture book and a movement to empower children of differing abilities through sports and camps.

"You may never know the weight that a small act of kindness can have on a person's life" ~ Dave Clark

Some of you may not know about Dave Clark's story of drive and inspiration. It’s a story about a man who dreamed and did his way through what was expected to be a life of impossibility and created a reality beyond his dreams.

Pulling Each Other Along honors the unwitting acts of kindness that change lives and give the gift of hope and possibility.

When Dave Clark was in 1st grade a boy named Ernie Pound changed his life forever when he brought his Red Radio Flyer Wagon to school with the sole purpose of giving Dave a ride to the local fire station for a field trip. 50 years later Dave got to thank him.

Today Clark, along with his foundation — Dave Clark Foundation, Ltd. — is doing everything he can to expand awareness to over fifty million Americans living with disabilities by highlighting their potential and accomplishments.

  • EP 28: Open for Business! - Interview with Marleen Redhead
In this interview, Marleen Redhead shares with us how she created the amazing coaching program she is now offering. As she says it in her own words:

“I had known since the age of seven that I wanted to go become a lawyer. As glorious as that dream may sound, it had been an arduous and long (very long ☹) journey just to get at this point, and I’m still not an attorney yet!
I had to endure many obstacles and hindrances along the way, such as the doubts and naysayers, as well as overcoming some limiting beliefs. All these factors not only propelled my dream into overdrive, but my experiences led me to develop and patent a comprehensive framework called “The Inspiration Model”.
I designed the inspiration model based on my experiences of what I had to endure and the actions I took to overpower them. The model was originally created as a work plan for myself, but then realizing that so many professionals aren’t working at what they love and want motivated me to offer my framework as a coaching package.
I started presenting my inspiration model at speaking events as a way of showing audiences they have the ability to make their dreams come true. I help intuitive professionals get completely unstuck, so that they can get crystal clear on their dreams and actually make them a reality.”

In this amazing and inspiring interview, you will discover Erin Matchette who created Esteem Magazine, a much needed and brilliantly developed safe place for both girls and women to share their stories and help one another build their self-esteem. As girls mature into young women (and young women into mature women), we are constantly evolving and developing our sense of self. We begin to define ourselves through different elements of self-esteem: creative, emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual.
    About Erin Matchette
Erin lives in British Columbia, Canada. She is a wife to Chad (since 1995) and a mom to Emily and Jack. Erin has spent the majority of her career specializing in early learning as a daycare owner/operator, preschool supervisor, and then as a trainer in both classroom curriculum and centre management. She is also the co-owner (with her husband Chad) of the Lindbjerg Academy of Performing Arts. In her spare time, Erin is passionate about musical theatre, participating in over 50 productions since the age of 10. Erin is very grateful to have worked with so many amazing women over the years in both ECE and the theatre, and hopes that many share their stories of self-esteem to inspire and encourage this community of women to continue to raise each other up.
