Jesus said that the two most important commandments were to love God and love people. So why aren't christians everyone's favorite people? Have you ever stopped to think about how your actions reflect upon God? The most important thing we can remember is this, the difference between a christian and a non christian is christ. Our actions certainly reflect on Jesus, but if God didn't accept people who did bad things, who could He accept?

We believe God has big things in store for Mission City Church over the next year. Some of those things include our upcoming move to the Merriam Community Center on Nov. 6th, relearning how to have community in groups in order to impact our neighborhoods, and seeking out how God wants to use us inside of our local church context to make it the best church possible. Throughout human history men and women have been searching to find the ultimate meaning of life. For many religious people that meaning involved some sort of after life or ultimate destination. One common statement from the Christian faith is that Jesus is the only way to God or their ultimate destination. Have you ever wondered if this is true? How can so many other religions and traditions believe something else? Join us as we explore the truths behind this claim.

Special guest Nate Miller shares his perspective from spending time as a missionary in the amazon on how important disciple making truly is. Nate and his wife Roxanna felt led since they were in high school to give their lives as missionaries to the people of Brazil and they have an amazing story to tell. The bottom line from Nate is, go where God is calling you, it's always worth it.

Our vision at Mission City Church is to be a community that makes Jesus known. We take this idea from the first two verses of 2 Corinthians  2. In order to accomplish that vision we hold tightly to five key values. These values are, Be Hospitable (Romans 12:13), Dialogue Well (James 1:19), Proclaim Jesus (Romans 10:14-17), Live Whole (1 Peter 1:13-15), and Multiply Disciples (Matthew 28:18-20). If you consider yourself a part of Mission City Church, we encourage you to consider how you live out these values in your life and what areas you can continue to grow in. 

As we wrap up our Community sermon series, we want to reiterate three things. These are, it is not good for us to be alone, God's family is meant to be a blessing, and the sacrifice of Jesus made a way to reconcile our relationship with God and others. With that in mind, we wrap up this series with some final thoughts about how we want to have community at Mission City. We will focus on building deep relationships, growing spiritually, and connecting ourselves to the body as a whole. As Paul was writing his letter to the church in Ephesus, civil unrest was a common part of life. Roman occupation had challenged the jewish way of life and resources. The city was ethnically, spiritually, and economically, diverse. In spite of all these differences, Paul makes it clear that the death of Jesus was for all to experience an opportunity to enter into the family of God. Not only was this true then, but also for us today. Ephesians two makes it clear, if the power of the cross could reconcile our relationship to God, it certainly has the power to reconcile our relationships with each other.
