So many times we may want to help someone we love but don't know what to say or how to help. In this sermon we specifically address depression and how we can respond as believers.  Depression can cause us to feel lonely, sad, and hopeless but Jesus encourages us that although we will face trouble in this world He has overcome the world. He will never leave us and is our source of eternal hope and joy. This doesn't mean that we can pray a prayer and instantly feel better, but it does mean that in abiding in Jesus and trusting our fellow believers to support us we can find support. This week I sit down with lead pastor Russell Schultz and Licensed Professional Counselor Hanna Meigs to discuss the effects of anxiety that she sees in clients as well as some helpful tips for overcoming anxiety. Hanna also attends Mission City Church and speaks into how she sees God's presence in therapy and the work she does.

Mental health disorders and challenges can hinder our ability to experience the gospel in our every day lives. Anxiety and depression can rob us of the love, peace, and joy offered to us in relationship with Jesus. In this episode we discuss our own struggles with mental health, the role we believe we can play in helping others, and walk through an incredible practice for using our own struggles as a tool to reveal areas of growth in our relationship with God.
