We are back this week with some tips on how to manage guilt – especially the tricky kind which we discussed in last week’s episode.
Experiencing feelings of guilt may be an inevitable consequence of being human and perhaps putting our needs first sometimes (nothing wrong with that!).
So whilst guilt may not vanish, we can definitely question how valid it is, and is it possible to mitigate or reduce our guilt without a greater impact on us.
If it isn’t possible, then maybe we accept the consequence as unfortunate rather than intended, and allow the guilt to pass (perhaps a little quicker than we used to!).

Ah, guilt! That wonderfully complicated emotion (perhaps unique to humans?).
Certainly we seem to have many opportunities to experience feelings of guilt – but what we are interested in for this week’s episode is how warranted that guilt is and have we even done something ‘wrong’ in the first place?
Of course these things are subjective, making guilt an even trickier emotion than it already is. Tune in for our thoughts on ‘tricky’ guilt, how it is a signal – usually of friction, and its close relationship with responsibility and control.
Today’s question for the next time you feel guilty about something -
‘Is your guilt pointing to something you've done wrong, or something you've simply found difficult?’

When we were doing all the scheduling admin for our episodes on feeling that you should be able to cope, and how to admit to yourself that you’re not actually coping, we realised that we were missing a really important step: how to ask for help.
So, here’s an episode all about asking for help! These tips, tools and techniques may seem obvious when you’re in a good place, but when we’re struggling, the obvious becomes rather less obvious, doesn’t it?

If you’ve ever forced yourself to keep going with something even when you’re struggling way more than is healthy, then this episode of Mission Imperfect could be perfect for you:
We’re talking about what makes us think we should be able to cope when we’re really not. The question we invite you to ponder is:
Where in life are you struggling to cope but not admitting it, and what stops you from admitting it?
(If you don’t have anything current - and we obviously hope you don’t - consider a past experience). Why not grab a cuppa and a biscuit or six and join us?🫖🍪

If you’ve ever noticed how much attention we pay to measuring ourselves and what we do, then this episode of Mission Imperfect could be perfect for you!
We’re taking a look at both the positive and negative aspects of focusing on how well we do or don’t measure up, and considering some of the measurements we take for granted.
The question we invite you to ponder is:
Consider an area of your life where you feel you are in some way not “measuring up”: how are you measuring this, and how valid is that measurement?

This week we are discussing that very familiar frustration of feeling stuck and being annoyed with ourselves for not being able to ‘just get on with it’.
But since so many of us can relate to this feeling, there must be more to it, right?
Well, we think so, in what we have called ‘the hidden layers of stuckness’ and the ‘self-talk trap’ we can fall into, meaning we get nowhere fast! And we have some tips to help you get unstuck without feeling like you are forcing yourself.
This is exactly the kind of work we support our clients with, so please do get in touch with either of us to find out more.

If you’re running yourself into the ground to keep doing something you’re not even sure you want to do, then this week’s Mission Imperfect could be perfect for you.
Following on from last week’s discussion about whether it’s true that we should NEVER give up, this week we’re offering tips, tools and techniques to help you recognise and admit when you’re ready to give up on something - because cutting through all the cultural noise about never giving up to recognise what’s best for YOU, can be hard, can’t it?

“Never give up.”
“Don’t be a quitter.”
“Nothing worth having comes easy.”
“You didn’t come this far just to give up.”
We hear these things a lot and they often seem really positive and motivational. But in this episode we’re questioning whether it’s true that we should NEVER give up - after all, even Churchill recognised that there’s an important caveat to “never give up”...

This week’s question is a tad predictable, but maybe your answers won’t be…
