Here's a first for MISSION STATEMENTS: A DBUET Podcast.

My guest on Episode 021 is Academy Award Winning Makeup & Effects Artist, John Caglione, Jr.

He won the Academy Award for makeup for "Dicky Tracy" (1990), he created Heath Ledger's Joker makeup for "The Dark Knight", he's pretty much Al Pacino's go-to guy, working on everything from "Donnie Brasco", "Insomnia", "Paterno", "Heat", "The Irishman", "Hunters" (Pacino TV Series) and others. From his beginnings working on Saturday Night Live to cult horror movies such as "Basket Case" and "C.H.U.D." to "Quest for Fire", "Amistad" and "The Departed", not to mention a couple episodes of "The Sopranos". We cover a lot here.

He recently created a YouTube channel and an online workshop for aspiring makeup artists.

My guest on Episode 019 is a resident at the infamous Cecil Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles on skid row as well as an urban explorer, Greg Samsa.

There was new found attention to the Cecil after Netflix aired their limited series, "Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel", which focused on the disappearance of Elisa Lam. If you don't already know, one of the founders of the Delta Bravo Team, Knocko, was interviewed for the documentary.

Once Greg moved i to the Cecil, almost every day he posts insane things that constantly happen there. So I figured I'd ask him to talk about it. From "The Night Stalker" Richard Ramirez to the Black Dahlia and constant chaos from residents and mentally ill. Strap in and enjoy.

Episode 018 of the Mission Statements podcast has dropped everywhere with very special guest Darren Dalton. You probably know him as Randy Anderson, the "good" Soc from The Outsiders, or Darrel from Red Dawn or from over 30 other movies and television shows.

We discuss (of course) his role as Randy, his friendship with C. Thomas Howell since auditioning for The Outsiders and how the book by S.E. Hinton and the movie are timeless and flip generations. The impact Danny Boy has had with what he has done and continues to do in Tulsa, his novel that he has done, the follow-up novel, being a teacher and everything else in between.

Episode 013 of MISSION STATEMENTS: A DBUET Podcast is now available to stream everywhere!

My guest is Gary Coulson. Gary has restored and saved the DX Gas Station from "The Outsiders", along with a big part of saving the Rexall Store featured in the deleted scenes (but can be seen in "The Complete Novel" version of the movie).

Initially being unfamiliar with the book or the film, he suddenly found himself in the middle of an amazing restoration project which has brought a new life to Sperry, Oklahoma. and he gives all the credit to Danny O'Connor, which without him, none of this would be happening at all.

We speak all about the renovations, the future plans and projects in that area that are all currently in the works.

This was, as always a very fun conversation.

Chris & Billy Waggoner are two out of the three "52 Pick-Up Kids" from "The Outsiders". They are the guests on Episode 012 of Mission Statements.

One of my all time favorite movies growing up since I first saw it at about five or six years old, then passing it onto my daughter at about the same age, and it being one of her favorites as well. I never thought I'd be having an hour and a half long conversation with these "kids".

We talk about how it was filming the movie, being chased by Matt Dillon, Ralph Macchio and C. Thomas Howell about fifty times to get the shot right, Chris getting his head shaved and a ton of other banter. Two really good guys who appreciate their small part in the movie and especially the resurgence of it because of what Danny Boy has created in Tulsa with The Outsiders House Museum.

I'm looking forward to next summer when I make it back to Tulsa to hang with these two. I hope you enjoy this one! Don't get wise... and Stay Gold.
