In this special episode recorded on the road in the US, Jesse Schreck shares a powerful sermon from Mark 6 on Jesus feeding the 5,000. What begins as a much-needed rest for weary disciples turns into a beautiful display of Christ's compassion, divine power, and training of His followers.

Drawing from his own missionary experiences in Italy and the life of the late Kurt Jost, Jesse unpacks five soul-strengthening truths for faithful servants: the importance of rest and reflection, compassion for the lost, our need for the true Good Shepherd, dependence on God's strength, and why God's way is always better.

Whether you're serving locally, on the mission field, or feeling worn out in ministry, this episode will encourage you to trust Jesus, offer what little you have, and watch Him multiply it for His glory. Perfect for missionaries, pastors, and everyday disciples.

Recorded missionary-style from a living room while visiting churches—join us in praying for the work in Italy!

In this live show, we shared some updates and stories from the mission field, and then taught on the key role of faithful preaching in the work of missions.

Aspiring missionaries, are you called to reach the lost and advance God’s Kingdom?

Join us for a powerful session on why faithful preaching of God’s Word must be central to biblical missions.

Many today preach motivational talks or prosperity messages, but not the whole counsel of God. True missionaries must be deep students of Scripture — equipped in theology and sound doctrine.

This is not for the faint-hearted or lazy. If you sense a call to missions, don’t miss this equipping session!

In this message from Matthew 6:25-34, Jesse explores the reality of anxiety in our fallen world—something we all face, whether from global uncertainties, daily pressures, or even joyful but intense moments like childbirth. Drawing from Jesus' words in the Sermon on the Mount, he reminds us that worry doesn't add to our lives but robs us of peace. Through vivid examples of birds fed by our Heavenly Father and lilies clothed in greater beauty than Solomon, Jesus calls us to reject anxious striving and instead trust God's sovereign care. The antidote? Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness—prioritizing faith, obedience, prayer, loving others, and living under Christ's lordship. When we do, God promises to provide all we truly need. The sermon closes with practical keys to a "healthy anxiety": knowing our Heavenly Father, remembering our life belongs to Christ, acknowledging His provision, cultivating contentment, and being anxious for what truly matters—faithfulness in advancing His kingdom.

A timely encouragement to cast our cares on Him and seek first the Kingdom.

In this pre-field training episode (also featured in Missions Academia), host Jesse Schreck provides an essential overview of short-term mission cohorts with Practical Missions Cohort (PMc) in Italy. He explains why Italy—a spiritually barren land with less than 1% evangelicals—needs biblical evangelism, discipleship, and church planting, and how short-term teams play a vital supporting role in "biblical missions proper."

Jesse covers the typical daily schedule (morning literature distribution and town saturation, afternoon park ministry with puppets/stories/games for kids, evening Piazza outreach with tracts/mimes/drama), logistics (application process, fundraising, packing, costs ~$1,200–$1,500 excluding flights), cultural adjustments (including riposo breaks), and the unique gospel-focused nature of PMc trips compared to common service-oriented trips elsewhere.

He emphasizes key principles for participants: expecting spiritual opposition and staying watchful/united (with book recommendation), trusting in God's sovereignty for salvation, avoiding pride or despair, striving for humility and unity (Philippians 2, 1 Peter 5), sacrificial serving as a living sacrifice (Romans 12), and relying on prayer while proclaiming the gospel boldly (Romans 10, Psalm 127).

Ideal for those preparing for summer cohorts, considering future involvement, or simply wanting to understand PMc's work in reaching the lost in Italy.

In this episode (339), we examine Hebrews 5: 11–6: 3, where the author pauses his teaching on Christ's high priesthood to deliver a loving rebuke: the believers have become "dull of hearing" from spiritual laziness and comfort, still needing milk when they should be on solid food and teaching others. Exploring what true discipleship means—entering the School of Christ, total surrender, making disciples, and living for Him—we're challenged to leave elementary foundations behind, grow in grace, excel still more, and pursue maturity through discipline, applying God's living Word, and fellowship. Avoid stagnation; embrace the vibrant, purposeful life Christ calls us to!

In this episode of Missions Incorporated, host Jesse Schreck dives into the challenges and principles of biblical church planting in Italy and Europe today. Exploring the "church planting dilemma," he contrasts pragmatic, results-driven approaches—often marked by shortcuts and "dumbing down" doctrine—with the patient, sovereign work of God seen in apostolic times. Drawing from historical insights, Scripture (including Acts 20:24-27), and on-the-ground realities in places like Venice, Jesse emphasizes the need for autonomous, financially independent local churches led by qualified pastors, while critiquing external dependencies and hasty methods. The discussion highlights Italy's spiritual landscape, the role of the state and historical influences like Roman Catholicism, and why long-term, foundational discipleship is essential for lasting gospel impact. Includes ministry updates, newsletter mentions, and invitations to join short-term cohorts at practicalmissions.org. A call to grow in knowledge of biblical missions and faithfully proclaim the kingdom of God.

In this episode, recorded during an adult Sunday school talk at Foundation Reformed Church, Jesse shares the urgent need for the gospel in Italy, where only a small fraction of the population embraces a biblical understanding of faith. Highlighting the challenges and opportunities in this mission field, he discusses recent ministry updates, the vision for a new church plant, the call for more laborers, and the need for a mission headquarters. The talk concludes with an exhortation from 2 Timothy 2:1, offering seven keys to being strengthened by God's grace to fulfill our God-given purposes.

In Episode 336 of Missions Incorporated, host Jesse Schreck tackles a vital question for missionaries in Italy: How should we engage Italians in spiritual discussions, considering their Catholic background? Jesse explores the nuances of Italy’s predominantly Roman Catholic culture, where 90% identify as Catholic, yet only 5% actively practice. He emphasizes finding common ground, clarifying the true gospel, and addressing misconceptions like baptismal regeneration. Key strategies include encouraging Italians to read the Bible, discussing the necessity of being born again, and using presuppositional apologetics to challenge secular worldviews. Jesse also shares practical tips for effective outreach, such as forming missionary bands, distributing gospel literature, and hosting community events. Stick around for ministry updates, prayer requests, and opportunities to get involved with Practical Missions Cohort in Italy!
