The adventuring group delved deep into the undercroft of the small Chapel in the village of Barovia. Donavich the priest was charmed by Ivabuharath and was lead to believe that the party wanted to try to save his son. DONAVICH's son has returned to him as a Vampire spawn and torments him day and night with his pleads to be fed and hungers desperately for the taste of blood. With the help of Ivabuharath , Rithian catches Donavich unaware and and ties the priest to a wooden pillar that supports the church above. The Son, Doru, attempts to escape though the hatch used to enter the undercroft. but is stalled by some quick thinking by Tanmon who beats the vampire up the stairs and blocks his attempt as Nikolai lands a beam of frost on Doru slowing his escape just in the nick-of-time. The group fights a tough battle and Phirinn is bitten by the vampire and falls to the ground unconscious. Phirinn is healed and struggles to accept the wishes of Rithian who wants the vampire left alive for questioning, and attempts to end the un-life of the enemy that felled him, but is stopped just before his blow lands. Phirinn struggles to keep his anger in check, but resigns himself to the wishes of the group. The vampire is left unconscious for a time as the group tries to talk Donavich through the next steps of what must be done and with the help of Ireena and Ismark Donavich is resigned and somewhat relieved by the outcome that the party has chosen to take of ending the un-life of Doru and the torment that Strahd has sent to Donavich though his sons return. The party has been injured and finds themselves spent emotionally and mentally as Donavich reveals a secrete that he has kept for many years. Ireena is in-fact not the biological daughter of the burger mister who she had called father all these years and was found as a small child wandering the forests. The burger mister adopted her and cared for her, but with his passing and her leaving the village of Barovia, he felt she should know the truth of who she is, or at least as much as Donavich knows of her past.
